That sucks, but at least the paint is unscathed. I've replaced many windshields in my day and luckily in Florida there is no deductible if you carry collision coverage. I'm not sure if it's similar in Alabama, but if you are making an insurance claim be sure to tell the agent and the glass company that you want factory glass not an aftermarket windshield. If you don't specifically ask for it you will get aftermarket. Good luck!

All fixed.... The Safelite guy actually was a former employee @ a local Ford dealer here in Huntsville. He knew me from my band that plays around town as well. He actually brought both OEM and aftermarket windshields. Just in case I changed my mind about the OEM piece! He taped off and covered anything and everything that could get damaged. It took him longer to prep that it did to R&R the glass. Really spent his time and did it right!
He and I went to the shop because his handheld wouldn't re-calibrate the cameras etc. Then spent a few minutes driving around while he was talking with someone in Texas that was running tests on all the cars systems. Pretty cool watching and having everything explained. He even programmed my garage door opener and the one in my wife's Benz that I have NEVER been able to get working!

Congrats on the car. After 2,500miles and 1 track day I replaced my tires. Went with the Pilot Sport 4s tires and love them on the street and on the track. I bought my tires from Tire Rack and had them delivered straight to the dealer for installation, and they came with a road hazard warranty from Tire Rack. Just got a big gash in the sidewall on one tire after a year, and they reimbursed me the replacement cost.

Awesome! Is it everything you hoped it would be? Let me know when you’re ready for a track day at NOLA. I’m doing the one on Dec. 2 if the weather is good. They do some lead-follow sessions for novices if you’re interested.

it'll likely not be until next year that I attempta track day, after I do track attack. and I am also now moving to Mobile, AL. technically I live there, 4nights a week, and Gonzales 3 nights.

No kidding. If it had been me, it would have bounced off the hood, trashed the windshield, and then proceeded to pound a big dent in the leading edge of the roof....because that's the kind of luck I have.

I replaced the cup 2's with those as well. So much better to drive on and I don't hear the tires picking up every little pebble off the road and filling up the rear diffuser with them. I unfortunately had a bad alignment from factory and the tires didn't even make it to 5000 miles. Passenger front tire had cords showing on the inner tire at 4770 miles and the drivers side one was just about to start it looked like. Could see little bubbles starting on the inside of that tire almost like the cords wanted to start separating. I'm glad I noticed it while I was on my way to work and stopped to check what I could so I didn't make the drive that day till I had new tires in.

Would've been a bad day to have a tire blow and ruin something on the car.
