LOL!!!! Just returned from a week in the desert helping my 85-year-old mother move into her new place! I am an AVIS platinum/diamond/gold whatever level member from 35 years of corporate travel with Boeing!
I arrived @ Sky Harbor airport and when I got AVIS I noticed the note next to my welcome the was a see agent comment. Hmmmmm. I went in to the lil office to find out my credit card on file hadn't been updated with my new card. No biggie! I did ask if they had something 2 door and lots of fun. They offered me either a Camaro or a Mustang. I asked if they were both V8 cars and was told both were, but the Mustang was a manual transmission. "Bonus.....I'll take it!!!" Canyon carving....here I come!
I found the car in it's space and it looked like a base model grey GT! I jumped in and fired it up....... 2021 Mustang GT with 1580 miles! LMAO.....probably the least rented car in their fleet! No upgraded dash...no leather seats...packages etc. Drove it like I stole it for a week ! Sorry.....not even in the same zip code as the MACh1 !!
Long story short......transmission.... average at best.... shift throw felt like a Top Loader, clutch felt like a VW product compared to the Tremec. Brakes......average compared to the Brembo's. Lil tires, no Magnaride....fun if ya like front end push cornering etc. Just glad to be back in BAMA and in my MACh1..... IMHO well done Ford !!!! Just a a plain a$$ great car!!!!

I went to Az. to look at a Gran Torino in 2018 and before I left made sure to call the cc company to let them know of my travels. They said noted it on my account.
My flight is late on arrival at SH and after the shuttle drops me off at Hertz and they ran my card only to get declined. I sat for an hour while shit was getting worked out. Meanwhile I am steaming over the whole deal. I ended up using a work cc and rented a new pos chevy. Had to walk by a mustang to get to it. I never get that lucky. Haha
It was late March and the temperature was 112° on the dash at 2AM. But it was a dry heat. Hahahahaha

For sure. It was 95° in December another time I was there but at least I had my golf clubs.

After my 4 year stretch in the navy, I lived out there for 3.5 years. I was there for the highest recorded official temp ever, 122 F on June 16, 1991. The official temp is always taken 50 ft up at the airport, but down on the pavement, some places saw 135-140 F that day.

can't wait to be back in Alabama. Been trying to make it over there every week for hte last month. something keeps coming up every week. tomorrow my father in law has open heart surgery, not expected to make it. so...next couple of weeks are out too :/
