Hi guys, I have had a strange noise occur a few times on my car. A little about my car first. I have only had it a few weeks, it is a 2017 GT350 w/electronics pkg. Car has been amazing and no issues other than this noise. The car has about 350 miles on it. I have been taking it easy until 500 miles when I get the first oil change. I have been careful not to rev the engine past 6500k rpms or so, driving at various speeds, etc.

Now, things I have noticed about when the noise occurs:
-It occurs when I rev the engine 5000-6500k rpms
-It is a high pitch sound(sounds to me like belt, belt tensioner, bearing)
-The engine is warm(I don't rev it until it gets a proper warm up)
-The noise occurs for about 5 minutes or so after I rev the car, then goes away
-The a/c has been running every time it has happened(not sure if this would affect anything)
-I don't notice it when I am driving, only when I am parked and rev it(may not be able to hear while driving)
-It has happened about 3 times in 350 miles

I am going to do some more investigating tomorrow to see if anything affects it. I am going to see if I cut the engine off and cut it back on if the noise is still occurring, and see if the a/c being off has any effect.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Like I said the car runs great and no issues other than this noise.

I don't think it is the throttle body, usually that just makes a quick sound when you hit the throttle. This is a prolonged high pitched noise like it is a bearing or something. Could even be in the fan? Just wondering what it could be because it goes away after about 5 minutes or so after the rev. It's like what ever is making the noise "cuts off" after so long.

I like to disassemble things.
Only 350 miles? Put miles on it and see what happens. Sounds like the belt to me and it may go away.

push the clutch in and noise will go away, revving in neutral causes it.

When my car was new it did that. I would rev it in neutral so my friends could hear the exhaust and then afterwards it would sound like belt squealing for just a little bit. It must have went away because I haven't heard it in a long time.

This actually makes a lot of sense. Last night I revved it for a friend in neutral. Noise started after that, a few minutes later when I went to drive off it stopped as soon as I pressed the clutch. I just figured it was a coin incidence. :headbonk:Thanks guys for the help. It appears I really am as dumb as I look

Anyone have any idea on exactly what causes the sound?
