So back in the day in my fox bodies I always did a hidden disable switch using the fuel pump relay. It came in handy a few times when friends thought they could grab my keys and take my cars.

recently we have had a lot of push button Fords getting stolen from driveways with RFID thefts in the area, now my car is always in the garage at home but when i'm out i'd like the same protection/security.

I’m thinking the start button would be a good place to cut into and run a hidden toggle.

Anyone done or looked into?
Can anyone get wiring diagrams possibly?

thanks

If that is what you want to do, then I would try the leads to the fuel pump like you did on the fox body. On S-550's it's under the backseat bottom cushion.

Perfect, that’s exactly what I’d like to do again!

I’ll check it out when my CM Components delete comes in

Thanks a lot for that info!

This thread brings back memories - I had a fuel pump swtich in an old 4 eye mounted inside the shift boot... so you would have to feel the toggle, flip that to on, then she would go... Was always pretty proud of myself doing it there - was subtle enough even buddies in the car missed me flipping it.

lol. Right! I had the switch under the seat next to the relay mounted facing the rear. Had to reach under and flip it. No one knew were it was!

Another “brings back memories” from another 86-93 multiple Fox owner…. My anti-theft device instead of a kill switch was popping the dizzy cap and pocketing the rotor… plus “The Club” wasn’t just for steering wheels back then… 😁

— back on target…. Bisecting the S550 fuel pump harness would work perfectly for sure. You could even double switch it by interrupting again either at start button OR the clutch switch…

Yep.. memories. Fish hooks / razor blades tacked to the back of my Pioneer CDX-P1, hiding my Crutchfield amp in the spare tire well, and a SPST switch to the positive lead on the coil inside the glovebox haha.
