Anyone know what this part is called the steering wheel clips into? It has tons of slope, and I suspect is the source of my magride/audio/launch control issues I've had the last two years.

Sorry if the photo is massive.

Got the new one. There is a surprising amount of slop in the brand new part, and it was confirmed this much was "normal". I guess about 1/16" of play between the two parts, where as the old one was more than 1/8"

I am starting to think this isn't going to fix my issues. Oh and Ford has no returns on electronic parts haha

I can't think off hand of anyone that takes returns on opened electronic parts. Sometimes they can be returned if still in original sealed packaging but often if you buy it, it's yours.

It's been a few years, but Autozone did, Advanced did, O'reilly did. It used to be my way of figuring out what was wrong with my vehicle. But again, this was 12 plus years ago when I was broke LOL...I don't blame them if they stopped.

That's probably why they stopped. I know I'd be upset if I bought a spendy new part only to find out it's a used part. Especially with some of the delicate electronics today. As an example, if you don't know what you're doing, or you're not careful, it's not that difficult to damage a clock spring.
Not that you have, just saying that can be one of the more delicate ones.

Yeah, I get it. Now I just have to get the airbag light to turn off with the new clock spring.
