Hello,
Long story short - I have a '17 EcoBoost i4, and I was performing some cleaning and maintenance, changing the purge solenoid, and dropped a bolt holding down the passenger-side of the engine cover. The bolt went down and was never found again. I looked for what felt like an hour.
YES! I have attempted to contact the Ford parts and service center in my town... I have also tried to reach out to an online Ford parts ordering service. It seems they don't want my business, because in over 2 months they still haven't contacted me back about my inquiry. So, the purpose of this thread is to see if anyone on here is willing to help me identify this part and/or part number. Going thru Ford's parts diagrams I have selected, purchased, and tried two different parts, and neither of them looked anything like what I found was missing.
Here's what I've tried:
This one (above) has the nut welded to the shaft it sits on.
Here's what's actually missing: (Keep in mind, it's the black nut, with a flat base, not flared, like above)
Right now looks like this, with the cover off
