Quick history. Bought my 22 GT May 8th. 6th day of ownership, It goes into limp mode. Pre-collision unavailable and service vehicle soon. Goes back to Ford. 11 days later I get it back. At exactly 56 miles it goes right back to limp mode with same warnings but a Check engine light too. Engine codes are for torque calculation and IPMA says invalid data. Goes back to Ford for 3 days. Get it back and 57 miles later same issue but with timing codes and invalid data from PCM. Also found a collapsed vacuum line for the intake runners. So I threw a new line on just to drive it. Goes back to Ford again for 3 days. You guessed it, 56 miles from dealership it goes into limp mode, pre collision unavailable, advance track unavailable and service vehicle soon .. No cel.

They have recalibrated and updated each module... Flashed ECM with factory tune. Did they replace those collapsing vacuum lines on back of intake? Nope... Like they are doing the bare minimum. I have Forscan and I usually only get p061A or p061B a long with a code in the IPMA.

This morning I decided to log VSS and some other parameters on the way to work. When it threw the wrench light this time I got a freeze frame showing PCM saying VSS at 150 mph. Every other module showed 60mph. The data stream for the VSS was all over the place after this.

After work I used the same PID's on the way home. Everything looked good. Then I got the wrench light and again with a freeze frame showing VSS at 151mph when going 45mph. The VSS log stayed the normal though. Not all over the place like this morning.

Could this be the VSS sensor causing this or is this likely a PCM failing? The car does this no matter how you drive it.

My Brain hurts.

But damn, that's some bad luck.

Everytime you pick it up do they say they fixed it? (Clearly they haven't)

Yeah every time they say it's fixed. They were supposed to call me back yesterday and didn't. I've read where people call Ford service or somewhere to start a ticket so it forces the dealer to actually figure out the problem.

I just need to find that number today

Seems to me if you show them your log data it "might" give them a clue where to look for the issues as it's obviously NOT happening when they check it in their service bay. I guess they don't realize that oftentimes you have to actually drive the vehicle to duplicate symptoms. I wonder what level tech they're assigning the car to for diagnosis?

I took it back to the dealer After the Service manager called me. He apologized that it left the first time and there shouldn't be this 3rd attempt at repair. I told him it was the 4th attempt. Thats when he asked for the codes I had.

Very frustrated with the situation. They have hardly driven it. When they do drive the car, it's not long enough to duplicate the issue.
They even asked if the shop foreman could drive it home to see if it will act up.. Then it sat for 2 days and didn't move till I asked for an update today.

Well the dealer still couldn't replicate the problem. So I had to pick the car up Friday. I made it about 5 mi from the dealership when I got the pre-collision unavailable and a wrench light.

I paused for a second thought to myself what is different from them driving it and now me driving it?

That's when I realized as soon as I plugged in my phone charger I got the pre-Collision unavailable message.

It was the Amazon usb fast charger causing my car to have electrical issues.

After scanning a few different parameters with ignition off and car not running, you can see it disrupts signals in the IPMA and PCM. It causes interference in the canbus data. .

Weirdest thing I've ever seen. I tried other chargers in the port and they didnt cause an issue .

We have used it in the 2025 Mustang loaner and my wife's Focus. It didn't effect those cars.

So don't use cheap chargers
. There's the fix.
