The CAI the OP is using isn’t round at the MAF sensor area.
Area is area. Round, square doesn't matter. You calculate the difference in size from a known CAI, like the stock size, then add a difference to the new size then fine tune.

I think the reason most tuners pass on this is due to the large size and the number of averages one would need to take to get the slow engine speed accurate.

But once you get the first one done any others would be easy.

It isn’t round, it isn’t square. It’s a complex shape, tapered, elliptical, flat and with a boat load of turbulence and eddying happening right at the MAF sensor.
I get what you’re saying but with the OP’s style closed lid with insert or not, transfer function development isn’t easy.

Did you make any changes to the grill opening to the OEM bottom section of air box ?
I installed RTR upper grille and cervini lower grille a little over 2 years ago.

To me it is easy because I have time to average things out. Start with a base file then log 30 or 40 times in differing weather conditions and times of day. Then take the average of those periods and start over. After 10 or so more add that average to the other divide by 2 and I'll bet I have a better transfer function than Steeda.

I would keep averaging it till I got 2% trims. If that is not achievable I would add an air straightener.

Someone send me that CAI and I will give you a file for transfer function.

I'd also return the CAI

Let’s see what the logs uncover.
I can't open them, says corrupted file header.

OP What software did you use to log?
