hey guys need a little help!

I am installing SRP pedals and want to install the dead pedal with nuts and washers on the back side of the carpet and need to remove the side panel behind the hood release lever and cannot figure out how to remove it.

Does anyone with experience know how the lever is removed gentle persaution has not helped and I dont want to break it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated pics attached.

Find a socket that will go over the inner circle. Press it in and pull/jostle the lever.

I have those same pedals but haven't installed yet. Question though, per the manufacturer I thought you just screwed the new dead pedal to the old one? do you need to take it out first? interested to see your install pics and here your thoughts.

Yea I did not want to do it that way I wanted a cleaner look did not like how it sat on top of the of the old pedal gap between it and carpet. It will probably be a few days before I finish it up have a lot going on but will send you some pics once installed.

That makes sense and I wondered if it would be noticeable. I'll prob try mine this week and will also snap some photos. Im not even sure what sort of mounting hardware was included. I opened the box though and saw the pedals look real nice...

Here are a couple of pictures of the pedals installed. I decided to mount the dead pedal to the original pedal after grinding it and sanding it flush took all the bumps off of it. Decided not to drill into the carpet or bild a spacer to fill the vacant area of the stock dead pedal. Works great and feels good heal toe is much easier now.

Thanks. I was struggling with how the dead pedal would like up squarely and look right. Its so much larger than the original it didn't seem to want to sit in the space correctly.

Being all metal pedals, how do they work when your shoe souls are wet? It "seems" like they will be slippery.

Not slippery at all they have very good traction due to diamond cut pattern, I would not have changed the pedals if I could have found a matching factory gas pedal that was wider but I really do like the SRPs after putting some miles on them now.

Yea you need to play with it a little and I also trimmed about a quarter inch off of the side panel so that I could put the dead pedal as far left as possible so the right side would fit properly. Drilling the factory brake and clutch pedal is a bitch and you need to be perfect as there is no room for error.

trimming that side panel was exactly my thought on this. Also, I have a small right angle (Milwaukee M12 fuel) drill I planned to use not he job. -it should allow for quite a bit of precision. Thanks for all of the feedback and thoughts on this. If you get a chance I'd love to see a floorboard shot from the drivers seat like you're looking down at them.

Will do when I get a chance will PM you.

I had a 90 degree drill and it worked very well its just the drill bit wants to walk even with a good center punch dimple the pedals are rounded.
