Help getting traction after sc install pls

Hay guys

Done a lot of work to my 2016 GT all of it bought from people on this forum :cheers:
Still got one or two things to do like a new vented hood and rear wing.

But what i after at the moment is some help getting the power to the pavement.
It should be putting out pretty close to 720 whp

The mpss just can not handle that level of power at all,she just spins up in the first 4 gears no mater if i am progressive with the throttle or not.
Most of my build info is below the car is a daily driver, want to hit some race tracks with it too.
So 95% on the road 5% track.
I have tried lowering the tyre pressure's but no deference.

So any hints help or advise on getting traction would be very much appreciated :shrug:

You'll have to use a drag type tire. Mickey Thompson or similar. MPSS are really hard tires, you need a softer tire.

Street drag radial for traction, won't last long but they hook up ok. Or sacrifice some traction and go with a harder MPSS/Nitto/etc for longer life. I don't think a soft street drag radial exists that lasts more than maybe 4,000'ish miles if you drive very aggressive. At least based on my experience...

NT555r holds just fine and will last 10k. I'm at 5k on mine and they still have good life left in them. It's DR or bust!!! Since you have 19's you can go with the Pirelli Trofeo R but they are ~$800 or more; there is a sale on them at discount though. My buddy with 890 whp twin turbo says they are hold fine and amazing tires. But the wear is the same as DR's.

IF you are on the stock whipple tune...use flight control to take 25% out of 1st and 2nd, take 15% out of third and you'll be fine. This is what I do with my stock pzeros and 3.73 gears for street use and seems to work fine.

MPSS compound needs some heat before it performs and even then it cant touch drag tires. What pressures are you running?
Have you tried 25-28 cold rear?
Dont freak out how squirmy they are cold, just get some heat in them before you go apeshit.

Also, very important, what is your rear camber and toe?
As you have a stiff sidewall and very little of it, your contact patch can get distorted w excess load bias/camber towards the inboard edges. Try backing your rear camber off a hair and go 0.7 to 1 range to start.

Under rear weight shift and squat the camber gain may make the situation even worse. (As weight in rear goes up, camber may increase even more).If you have someone do your rear alignment for you, ask if after they get the first reading, place 160# of sand bag in rear of trunk. re read. Then another 160#. reread. (or just have beer drinkn friends sit on rear w trunk open). You can have the camber set at 2.0 max at 500# rear trunk load and then unload and see where it is.
Go 0 rear toe to start. There may be a *slight* improvement off line to have a hair of toe out so as the suspension loads up it is 0 toe dynamically. You can add a 800# tension cable from rear spindle to frame on both sides to set toe under load and then unload to see what you get.

Chalk or white spray paint across rear tire to see the wear.

Obviously, taller and more compliant/softer sidewall of a drag tire will square the contact patch way better and makes the above less an issue.

Yeah have tried 24 ,26 28 psi that i am running at the moment no differance really , the whipple is just to brutal for them

Im even running at -25% and -15% power in first and 2nd to try and help grip.

I think i better wait till after the winter (im in the uk) and then put some track tires on it like the PILOT SPORT CUP+ / N-SPEC

I dont mind changing tyres one a year to have grip :-)

NT05R - superb tire. Any of these tires will struggle in cool weather, though, so best of luck in the UK. I run the MPSS on the street since rain and cold weather doesn't upset them too bad.

This is why as much as I would love to daily drive my car when she gets done I don't plan on it. Bubba you might wanna get a new set of rims and tires. Have a set for daily use and a set for weekends and track days.

I run ET Street R's on the rear and hook pretty good once warmed up and warming them up isnt really tough, i run 305 45 17's, i used to have nitto 555 g2's, on a 19 inch rim and i wouldn't hook, i'd spin in every gear, the ET street R's may have some spin but its a straight line spin versus, being all over the place.
