That's what i ended up doing. Sent a data log to whipple. They were actually developing a new CAL for manual cars and had me test it out and send them data. Their updated tune for manual cars fixed all of my issues.
Purchased September 2020. I think it has every option available besides Recaros. Got something like 6k off sticker. Added the whipple gen 3 at 3,500 miles. Have 5,600 miles on it now.
Too much chatter for me. Starts from a dead stop were a pain in heavy traffic. I have about 1,500 miles on one i'd give a good deal on. Got talked into it unfortunately and it didnt suit my type of driving.
I had a 2016 mustang with a whipple. In 2019, sold it and got into a 718 GTS (4 banger turbo) when an increeible deal came along. The 718 is an incredible car, power is fun for its size and weight. But i missed having 700+ HP, so i added a 2020 PP2 and went whipple. As fun and enjoyable as...
Obviously driving habits differ a lot and will impact the life of a stock clutch. I do some spirited pulls in boost occasionally but no racing or high rpm clutch drops. Dont try to do super fast shifts through the gears under boost at high rpm's. Hell, i cant find enough open road around my...
I sent them a data log file. They said everything looked to be "within normal parameters". They did ask if I wanted to be a beta tester for their upcoming revised calibration. I took them up on the offer.
The shop that did the install has done dozens of SC installs. They double checked everything and didn't find anything that might contribute to the issue.
Update: Whipple is going to add me to the beta test group for their new tune that is being tested.
The whipple tune on my 2020 PP2 car is way worse than their tune on my 2015 6r80 car. I get crazy surging in 1st gear that randomly happens with no notice. Super embarassing when it happens...
Obviously a Trans mount shifter (MGW, barton) is going to add some more NVH than a body mount. For those of you that have done both, how much more NVH do you get with a Trans mount?
I just had a Barton hybrid mounted to my Trans. Theres more NVH than I expected. Plus, I added a McLeod rxt at...
I added a barton hybrid shifter at the same time. Brand new learning curve, with the springs the barton is much stiffer than the stock shifter. The springs will probably loosen up with time. Mounted to the trans so that adds to the different feel from the stock setup.
I chose the RXT due to having a whipple. I also added a Barton hybrid attached to the transmission. Same as the RST, learning curve starting off in 1st. Still in breakin period, getting some "chatter" but people say it should clear up with more miles. Def more noise than stock, but the...
Thanks for the reply. I just got my car back yesterday. Less chatter than I thought based on some feedback I read from others. Taking off in 1st is different, but not as bad as I thought it might be. Little bit of a learning curve but not bad. I've hear of others breaking a gear from hard...
