So I installed the edelbrock sc and fore level 1e fuel system and I have a p0340 cam position sensor- A circuit code upon start up. Pbd said to check the harness and make sure it isn’t rubbing or anything.

It’s a 2018 a10 with 8k miles so I assume it’s not a bad sensor or alternator, as it was fine prior to install. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should look for or advice?

Thanks in advance!

That is weird considering there isn't a part of the install that touches the VCT solenoids or their harness

Yeah.. I dont even know where there could be an issue. I’m definitely not a mechanic so I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas

Maybe fuse box got bumped or the wiring harness did. It has to be one or the other, I doubt the actual sensor went bad.

If you are able, check the fuses in the fuse box as well as under the box. I made an error when wiring once (never again) and apparently bent a connector or something on the bottom of the fuse box. Car threw about 6 codes and went crazy. Ended up being as easy as bending that back into place.

I did tap into a fuse for the heat exchanger pump. Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll check.
