Here’s another article referencing rodents chewing up the wiring on a woman’s 2017 Mustang in Detroit

https://www.freep.com/story/news/lo...8/05/07/rats-rodents-cars-vehicles/578398002/

Here’s a link to a thread from a forum member on here that had the same problem with rodents.

Car is working pretty good. Just made 155 miles today to dealer and I was driving harsh. Everything is working fine except my digital dash.

I would call Ford customer service, I don't see why sending the car to Poland would void the 3yr/36,000 mile warranty. Call quick before your 3 yrs are up.
Well, here's the answer to that.....

DO WARRANTIES APPLY IN OTHER COUNTRIES? The New Vehicle Limited Warranty and the Emissions Warranties described in this booklet apply to your vehicle if: • it was originally purchased through the Ford Export Operations Military Sales Program; or • it was originally sold or leased by Ford Motor Company or one of its dealers in the United States or U.S. Federalized Territories, and it was originally registered/licensed and operated in the United States, U.S. Federalized Territories, or Canada. If you meet either of these two requirements, you do have warranty coverage when you travel with this vehicle outside the United States, U.S. Federalized Territories, or Canada. In some cases, however, you may have to pay the servicing Ford dealer in a foreign country or U.S. Federalized Territory for a repair that is covered under the U.S. warranty. If this happens, be sure to save the paid repair order or invoice. You should present this document to a U.S. Ford Motor Company dealer for warranty refund consideration. Refer to www.Ford.com for additional customer assistance reference information.

Obviously you did not read my follow up post.

I'd still call. They do have a discretionary fund.

I will try my chance. Better than paying few thousand dollars to replace the cluster. That’s why I opened this thread. To find a way to fix this issue hopefully without changing cluster.

I will definitely try everything thank you
They said that they’ve put the car into computer and it says there’s an update for instrument cluster(They don’t know if it can solve this problem and open the screen tho but they think so)
I reread this a few times.........

They said that their computer told them that there was an update. They do not want to try doing the update because they fear that installing the update on a non working screen could harm the car. Does this sound right? If so I think I can understand why they might be hesitant to install the update.

By the way, did they check under the dash for a loose connection. Sometimes it is the simplest answer that do the trick.

Interesting thread - read all of it.

If the car has the large SYNC display, turn it on and tell us what the current version it is that you are seeing (or snap an image and post it here).

If SYNC is an older version, it's possible the fix is as simple as a SYNC update. There were older threads on this site where some digital dash owners experienced a "black out" of the Speedo cluster and it was due to having an older version of SYNC software. The responses were after updating SYNC, the digital dash came back to life. Now I do not know if that was a user enabled SYNC upgrade process OR if it was in reference to a Service Center "firmware" upgrade, because the response did not state either.

--

If the Recall was never completed on that S550 (strange that it wouldn't have been by now) then the issue *could be* the issues affecting the cluster per the Recall.

Out of curiosity, is this a salvaged/repaired S550 import?

Attached are all of the docs pertaining to the Digital Dash recall.

By the way, I just updated my cars Sync to recent 3.0.2. But it didn’t help my dash. Also I checked the cables on drivers seat side and it looked good to me.

From the description in the docs posted by Cobra Jet, it does not sound like updating the sync3 software would help (and I see it did not). Sounds like the dash has firmware that cannot be updated the normal way, but must be done with some special hardware/software the dealer would have.

It sounds like the build date you posted would be outside the range listed as being affected, but perhaps you can lookup your vin here and see if there's any issues noted: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/maintenance/recalls.html

I assume the dealer connected to the odb port to see if there were any errors reported?

One more idea may be to see what happens if you disconnect the dash, as you seem to have already made your way to the cables? If there are no new problems that occur after you disconnect the dash and drive as normal, I'm thinking there's less reason to worry that an update done by the dealer on a dash that may be broken will cause problems, as in the worst case scenario, you will simply disconnect the dash again and drive with it disconnected.

And unless I missed it in this thread, have you tried to disconnect the battery, let it sit for 15 mins and reconnect? Sometimes doing so resets multiple BCM's in the vehicle.

My guess is you or the shop already did this..?
