First set back, and I haven't even started yet.

I have read issues with Boundary and MMR OPGs. I ordered Accufab gears that 80foxcoupe recommended but they are on back order right now.

Any other recommendations?

I've never heard anything bad about MMR gears. I have almost everything MMR makes in my engine including their shortblock. 14k Miles (supercharged and now twin turbo) later and still running strong. I think every manufacturer gets a bad rap from someone.

I agree with that. Talking with Terry he said the Boundary, MMR and Triangle all perform well.

Thanks for your input.

Pulled 2 sets of boundaries, both chewed up. Pulled a set of CJ and a set of Accufabs both like new money. All engines were 800-1300hp. Draw you're own conclusion! I know I did.

In one of the build threads on here someone showed the tolerances on the MMR OPG's vs the whatever the Ford performance OPG's was and how much better quality and tolerances the FP ones were. I'll hunt for it.

I have seen that. The Accufabs are on backorder with no release date and Ford Does not make them anymore.

I may try the Triangles. Nope, I ordered them and they are also on backorder.

Going to try my luck with Boundary.

MMR's opg gears are not good. Not even close to good.

The set I had I measured .010 -- .013 (!!) between the teeth. Waaaaaaaaay too much.

The ones you want are the Ford cobra jet gears part no 6600-M50A. Ive been told they aren't being made any longer though so who knows.

So they should measure around .004? Mine runs 80psi oil pressure warm with a little rpm. 100psi at startup. 5w-30 Something is working right.

That's good oil pressure and at 14k miles, youre likely just fine with your MMR motor.

I think the issue is MMR's consistency and quality control. Perhaps you got a set with tighter tolerances.

Some other members have shown the gears themselves to deteriorate quicker than other brands so pay close attention to metal particles in your oil at changes.

It has begun. I plan on doing the OPG and 4 into 1 headers/turbos at work and finish it up at my house.
