Ok, I understand you would have to deal with the increased temps, but so does any other turbo powered road course car. But this was on an R, so wouldn't it handle the heat?

Kind of a long winded kit. I like how the turbos are up high in front of the motor. But lots of wiring and little pumps and stuff. They couldn't drain the oil from the turbos into the plastic oil pan. So they have like a little reservoir that receives the oil and then pumps it back up in the valve cover. Seems like a lot things that can go wrong or break. Looked like a dang nice kit though looking at the piping and turbos.

Anybody else catch the Engine Power show this AM? GT350R had a Hellion twin turbo kit put on. At only 8.5 psi it made 723hp with 654 tq. Almost identical profiles on the graph as a NA motor(though 200+ higher):thumbsup:

Only negative was the sound. Thankfully no vent to atmosphere blow off valves though.

I just watched it. Very nice looking kit but unlike other vehicles I own I think I'll opt not to destroy the warranty on this one...

While watching I kept thinking of all the additional joints/couplings that could get pounded open during track days. I love the thought of all the oil lines sitting ahead of my red hot engine, exhaust and in front of the tires. :thumbsup:

Having said that I love the idea of this kit for a street/strip coyote Mustang.

Really? I have been driving turbo cars continuously since 1985 and have accumulated around 750,000 miles in that time. I have never had a turbo, engine or drive line failure.

Turbo cars that were born turbo cars are much more reliable than an N/A car that gets boosted. I know it's completely irrelevant but my 2016 F250 with a tune and delete maxes at 42 psi and I don't worry about it because it was designed to run a turbo. A Voodoo on even 5 psi would make my butt pucker hoping the internals can handle it. I guess the more cars that get some track miles on them boosted will show us more of the reliability of a forced induction Voodoo. It may handle it just fine but for me it's to early to tell.

I wonder how much more additional weight the Turbo kit will add to the frontend of the GT350R? I would estimate 200-225 lbs.

Yes, really. OEM turbo setups engineered as a system are much more reliable. I should have clarified but I'm speaking of add on cars...the added complication, heat and the fact the system wasn't engineered together usually results in a lot of downtime or constant tinkering.

Don't get me wrong, that's bad ass and I love the power but I like the every day dependability of these cars.

I'd love to have this system on my car. Hellion has a great reputation and you could see during the show that they live up to it with high quality components and a well thought-out kit. I think the addition of a couple pounds of boost would be awesome coming off some of the corners at my local track. The car might need some cooling improvements, but the low end torque would take this car to the next level. I think it could withstand a couple pounds of boost without a huge hit to reliability.

Once the reliability has been proven I'll be considering this after the warranty is up.

Interesting Id like to see what they are doing for management that is always the real thing that will determine reliability.

I am also curious about the weight I dont want to push the car over 4000 lbs, with most of that weigh in the nose.
