Wellllll... Turbo's do max out, so to speak. The peak flow across a inducer is based on the flow map of the turbo, so once you go over that sweet spot of the Turbo you create a lot more heat and the efficiency goes down.

You size the turbo for the peak power and flow you want (i.e. bigger turbo, higher HP but also more Lag because it takes more flow across inducer to get the turbo up to speed.)

Higher compression does have higher exhaust energy but that is also determined by how much air you are moving through the motor, which is determined by your Cam timing, duration and lift. Its fun to design a turbo to meet a motors specs, but you look at a lot of flow maps to get it matched up to deliver peak performance with maximum efficiency.
Thanks for the info , I'm sure someone will end up building a TT project itd all about waiting now for someone with big balls and pockets

If my memory serves me right, the TT kit that BoostWorks is working on, it's also intended for GT350 besides the GT. So keep an eye on the project.

I bet having a TT on a GT350, will be a lot of fun, it's like having the new GT500 two years earlier. :D

For some reason a bulletproof turbo kit from the aftermarket has always been as rare as the proverbial unicorn.

You just don't see them.

While it's a superior way to make power, it's best done from a ground up, highly engineered, make sure everything fits and is dialed in (factory) manner.

In the aftermarket, super chargers have been done to death and there is such a wealth of knowledge now that it's somewhat easy to not only do it, but do it reliably.

The gt350 makes insane numbers with a supercharger. in the stratosphere. A TT version would be in Heaven?

It would be an amazing and awesome thing if say the next GT500 used this tech.

However, being a gt350 thread, I think it's known by now what some of us said in the beginning. The Voodoo loves boost.

Turbo boost is preferable for power and economy. But not so reliable in the aftermarket.

Thus far. Hopefully that changes as more Car enthusiasts wake up to the fact that turbo is the way to go and isn't at all a "ricer" thing.

I don't think people consider it ricer, at all. You did highlight the cons of aftermarket turbo systems, though. They never seem perfect and are frequently broken. I'll wait for an OEM solution on that one.

Unfortunately, many do. Ive had the conversation more times than id like.
But yes, I'd wait on aftermarket turbo as well. They're just not there yet.

Ford has been really making strides on the turbo front. The turbo 4 and 6 cylinders are amazing and reliable. Producing an ecoboost 8 cylinder is the next logical step.
