I recall some folks mentioning only the seat bottom was heated, however I'm pretty sure my seat back for the front seats are heated as well!

Can folks confirm this is the case.:) Also, can folks confirm activating the alarm (by locking the door with the FOB) does not lead to any flashing lights inside to show its armed?

BTW - will post my early impressions of the new ride Vs the German cars Ive owned (after an 8 month exact wait) later today.

Both the seatback and the seat bottom are heated.

How bout for cooling? I read somewhere it's just air pumping through. Not really cooled coils. Is it for seat back and bottom too?

it uses a peltier element, which heats and cools depending on the direction of the current running through it. they are not ventilated seats. I suspect this is also why they take so long to heat up.

They don't take that long to heat up. The seats get warm before the air heater does -- less than five minutes. I've had multiple cars with heated seats before, usually took around twenty minutes to heat up.

Just saying, I was halfway to work (admittedly a short commute) before I started to notice, and I had a passenger make the the same comment to me. My cousin's escaped seemed to heat up a lot faster. I wasn't about the make a big deal about it though. It's nice enough. Can't wait to try the cooled seats in the summer though.

Jimmy, I could have sworn in an older thread you said your seats heated up in about 30 seconds. You got me all excited, then I discovered upon delivery of my car that it does indeed take multiple minutes. A fair bit longer than my last car. Oh well.

If I said 30 seconds, it was an exaggeration -- it's practically immediate compared to my old S197, which didn't get noticably warm until twenty minutes in to a drive.

Still. I was hoping deep down that is was true. I suppose in my heart of hearts I always knew 30 seconds was lie.
