Yep I ordered 3/22 and had a VIN in about a week. Please note my delivery is still N/A even though Ford said it’s to be built in the week of Aug 16.
One more thing I noticed - I already have a VIN from Ford. And I think I have had it for a while. It’s how it allows me to track my status.
I have a feeling it’s just a weekly Ford email at this point to calm your tits and not cancel the order. Pretty sure that these delays will continue and my car will be here in September/October.Yep I ordered 3/22 and had a VIN in about a week.
My last email from Ford was on May 21, saying my new production date is the week of July 19. I had several emails prior to that with earlier dates.
The Ford order tracking website where you enter your VIN and order number used to list an estimated delivery date, but it's been N/A for a while now, even before the latest production date email. The emails and the tracking site definitely are not synced up.
Seems to depend on whether the dealer attaches your name and email to the order. You could either ask your dealer to do that or call Ford customer service with your VIN and order number and ask them to add your email. How do you get these Ford email updates? Is it from when your dealer requests an order in WBDO? Is there a spot in there to insert the customer's email address? Or is this done somewhere else or at another time? Does the order have to be picked up (or whatever you call it) before you would starting getting emails?
Hibatchi?Maybe you're doing the Accord wrong.![]()
Well when would the VIN be assigned? Doesn't the order have to work its way along the process a bit to get a VIN?Seems to depend on whether the dealer attaches your name and email to the order. Not sure, but it seems like most people get their VIN in a day or two, or maybe a week or two at most, from the date the dealer actually enters the order with Ford. Your dealer should be able to email you an order preview with the order number and dealer number, and then should separately be able to give you the VIN.Well when would the VIN be assigned? I agree. What sense does it make to wait for a car when the next model year is weeks away. So as soon as we get our cars it’s already a model year old. That’s BS in my world. If I don’t get my March order in august. I’m out.Looks like folks from February are going to get it in July/August. Well my end of April order is not coming any time before October/November.
I wonder if at that point I say screw it and get a 2022 car. :/
If you don’t have a VIN you don’t have an order in.Interesting - I ordered my Mach 1 on April 28th, and received an email the same day saying that my order was confirmed but crickets since. no VIN, no nothing...
