Is this silicone normal for a stock engine oor has this been apart. I'm having a hell of a time trying to remove it.

I recall my stock engine having black sealant on the snout. Once you get the balancer to move, it will be butter.

I finally removed it. It's the tightest balancer I've removed

Ford manual says to apply sealant to the woodruff key slot in the pulley before installing it. Probably hasn't been apart, or if it was, the person put it back together "per the book".

It has to have sealant in that area to prevent oil seepage, it's normal.
