I have a 2020 Mustang GT Premium convertible that I purchased used, and the hands-free calling feature has stopped working correctly. I can still hear the other person, but they can no longer hear me.

I tried unplugging the connection to the rearview mirror and plugging it back in. That worked for a little while, but the issue has since returned.

Does anyone have suggestions on what might be causing this? I have an appointment at the dealer on the 19th, but if it’s something I can fix myself easily, I’d much rather do that.

Forget about phone….What a great pic. What a nice dog!
Just reinitialize the sync system. it’s in the menu, maybe try to first remove the phone and add it back. If not, then reinitialize. Give your pup a pet…

Is are you using Android Auto or CarPlay? If not, try that instead by plugging your phone into the USB port under fighter jet toggle switches or in the center console compartment. IIRC the phone needs to be paired via Bluetooth to initiate the connection, and phone calls still go over Bluetooth.

Maybe a loose or bad connection with the microphone?

Thank you for the kind compliment, and thank you for the advice. I will give it a try before my dealer appointment. I will give Charlie a pet & scratch from you. That's a very nice Mustang you have!

I have a feeling it may be the wiring somewhere. I unplugged the rearview mirror, and it worked again for a short while. I am using CarPlay via USB port, but the other person cannot hear me whether BlueTooth, or USB.

How the hell did you get him to sit still. I recently dog proofed the passenger side seat and clear vinyl on the door panel and his big ass just bounces around the car the whole time

I don't know if Carplay is similar to Android Auto but I sometimes have the same issue with AA. The fix is :
Turn AA Off (Unplug)
On Sync Screen Select "Settings"
Select "Phone"
Select "Set Phone Ringtone"
Select "Use Phone Ringtone"
Reconnect AA

Honestly, I got lucky. This kid loves a car ride. He's so needy, though. He likes me to hold his head up. On an 8-hour New Year's Eve trip my arm hurt from holding it up the whole time. He saw me coming at the shelter and knew he had an all day sucker! Have you asked the vet about possible help?

Yes. My dog actually has a higher dose trazadone than me. Like double. That's how restless he is. If I even grab the leash he literally almost crashes through the wooden garage door into the garage. He's blown through the garage screen door several times. He's a damn juggernaut

Wow! On the bright side you have an energetic best friend to keep you busy and alert! My last guy wasn't that high energy, but he was a handful to say the least. I used to give him Xanax for car trips because at 126 lbs he wanted to be everywhere in the car, and he simply didn't fit everywhere. Good luck buddy... I know they bug us sometimes but we really can't have better friends.

I have a terminal illness and his big fur missile ass is keeping me on my toes and keeping me alive. Im actually looking into trading some stuff today for a newer impala today so he can tear up that and have a back seat with windows.

Check your Bluetooth settings for your car pairing in your phone to ensure it is set for calls. Try restarting your phone if it hasn’t been restarted in awhile. Try deleting your phone and then pairing it with the car again. If you have access to another phone (wife/kids/friend) that can be paired, you can determine if it’s a car issue since it should do the same for any paired phone.
