I tried this yesterday and my hood wouldn't close no matter how hard I tried. I had to remove the tubing. The same exact 1/2 inch Frost King that I picked up from Lowe's.

What I learned last night after installing the GT350 intake. Just give it more time for gravity.

I forgot to answer your other question. The 18+ uses a bigger tube than the 15-17. If I remember Bluemustang tested both and concluded the the 15-17 performed better.

What ? The 15-17 Stock air box vs the 18+ stock air box ?

If the throttle body diameter is different, that would answer it.

i was concerned the angle of the tibe wouldn’t work as well with a 15-17 on an 18 intake manifold.
