He's English, so he should be talking in lb/ft..........it's those pesky Europeans that talk in Nm ;)

Knowing Cosworth.....most likely closer to 500. 500 what?Here is a Production 5.0 Liter Coyote tuned to 450-500hp.
Used in the 2017 TVR and passes Euro Emissions...

Just wondering how Ford achieved such a feat![]()
Well, now it should be a shared area of concern. I am still not comfortable giving the Corvette sh!t...Looks like the LT4 issues are plauging the CTS-V as well. I dont know if GM can offer anything that can compete against any upcoming GT500 model Ford is working on...

Then, 500lb foot of torque out of a 5.0 liter Coyote is clearly insane. I have NO idea how they intend on such an engine passing emissions and economy standards far more strict than ours. He's English, so he should be talking in lb/ft..........it's those pesky Europeans that talk in Nm ;)
I will dig up the old report if I can find it. The report also said the Coyote would get a power increase to 500hp within a year.More horsepower than the Hellcat
Question is...” A Ford spokesman wouldn’t comment on its competitors car, but a new Shelby GT500 with, potentially, more power is expected to be revealed some time soon. ” – CNN Money
I think the voodoo will definitely find its way to some other model Mustang or even different models (Lincoln could use something fun). I can't see ford spending for R&D on a new motor and putting it in one car. If it does turn up in the Mustang GT I think maybe it will be an option for a few extra K. But I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. While the styling is fresh and sales are high Ford is content. Heck, if Ford could sale 1 million mustangs a year with no motors at all they would. So, sales and how the camaro does may force Fords hand.Talk of the Voodoo replacing the Coyote completely...
The Trinity may have been an option before they knew that weight was going up. The Trinity/TR6060 combo is probably 100-120lbs more than a Coyote/Getrag combo AND, probably $10,000 more. I'm not sure a 3160 can handle that right now.Ugh lets hope they replaced those rods in the trinity if its been dropped in an s550.
I keep hearing that too but I keep either ignoring it and not passing it on OR, I try and rationalize a different option.I think the voodoo will definitely find its way to some other model Mustang or even different models (Lincoln could use something fun). Lets hope not. That trinity is over priced. Personally im far more impressed with the coyote and road runner then the trinity by far.The Trinity may have been an option before they knew that weight was going up. Those things are the strongest weak looking rods ever. They have handled good power but they look spindly. Just don't turn em to high. But I agree, something a little strouter is needed for future applications.Ugh lets hope they replaced those rods in the trinity if its been dropped in an s550.
They handle 1000whp not for long. Just like the s550 has and road runner. I am all but unimpressed with the trinity. The stock rods snap on a maxed out stock blower when taking advantage of the extended rpms (7000) they gave for track passes. They have a design flaw that has been found out by those that have blown their motors. The trinity could have been king if they hadnt taken the condors rods and only slightly tweaked the design. They should have designed all new proper rods for the price they ask for these shelbys, long blocks and short blocks. Forged rods shouldn't only handle stock power reliably. Those things are the strongest weak looking rods ever. They have handled good power but they look spindly. Just don't turn em to high. *edit* Ive never seen good forged rods break at 800Whp unless it was a manufacturer defect or flaw. These rods all snap at the same place. Its design flaw, through and through.
