The lap time put down by Randy is not what I would have predicted based on past results. The ATS-V typically outperforms anything in its output bracket. The time Randy produced was no better than the time Road and Track produced in a 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca. I'm sure it felt great and inspired confidence at its given speed... However, it's given speed is roughly that of a Boss 302/GTPP.The Raptor doesn't have a 700 HP competitor. The FGT doesn't weigh over 3800 lbs. There is no way the GT500 will have a TTV6 (IMO).
Randy was very impressed with the ATS-V in the BDC video. Why do you say the results are poor? The time is about the same as the BMW M4, and faster than the Boss 302 LS. Seems to be performing just fine.

The best way to find out this would be to talk to Multimatic. It's probably on the DO NOT TALK ABOUT list but I can try. Any weights on the EB3.5? I'd rather work from there.Pill, can you find out how much the new 3.5 TT weighs?
The ATS V came in less the 2 sec slower then the Z28 driven by Randy also. That's impressive. It also beat the Boss 302 LS by over 3 sec. also driven by Randy. So how can you call that a failure?:shrug:The lap time put down by Randy is not what I would have predicted based on past results. The ATS-V typically outperforms anything in its output bracket. It's a Caddy, I'm almost positive it gave an M3/M4 impression... but I was led to believe that this thing was faster than what it ran. Randy provides the fastest results... these results are not as fast as the initial round of testing led me to think..
Just trying to figure out how much the Stang would weigh with the new Raptor 3.5 TT. From what I've been looking at. That motor might give the 5.2 a run for it's money and destroy it in the tq dept. The lap time put down by Randy is not what I would have predicted based on past results. Also, what kind of system is the twin turbo? Is it a custom system? That makes a huge difference in a twin or single. The big question is, can they make 4000-6000 custom twin turbo systems a year and provide warranty service for them? That is a big factor...
Better not! I don't go over to camaro 5 or 6 and bother them. But more the merrier.....This thread will end up locked too. All the Camaro folks that posted in the other thread are now making their way here.
what a shame....
It's not a failure, it's just not faster than a Boss 302's best time at the same track. 1:40 is about as fast as a Boss 302 and GTPP. I'm sure the ATS-V had some 1:41-1:43 laps as well...The ATS V came in less the 2 sec slower then the Z28 driven by Randy also. That's impressive. Maybe not...I am not holding my breath.Better not! I don't go over to camaro 5 or 6 and bother them. But more the merrier.....
I'm going off same driver. The guy who put down that faster Boss time must be real good to beat Randy by over 2sec. So why couldn't this guy do the same with the ATS V? That's why it's hard to compare cars with different drivers. It's not a failure, it's just not faster than a Boss 302's best time at the same track. 1:40 is about as fast as a Boss 302 and GTPP. I'm not impressed anymore. At first the lap times from the ATS-V were stunning. Now they are about the same as everyone else.

Randy must of had a real bad day or the Boss LS he was driving wasn't running right. For a Road and track driver to beat him by over 3 seconds is a butt woopen.
2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca: 1:39.5
The 1:40 by the Track Pack ATS-V doesn't really impress me.
The other Boss ran a 1:40-1:41 in the other test. Also a Laguna Seca...
Or Randy may have never been comfortable in a solid axle car.Randy must of had a real bad day or the Boss LS he was driving wasn't running right. For a Road and track driver to beat him by over 3 seconds is a butt woopen.
The driver Motor Trend interviewed did a 1:40.5 and a 1:40.8 in a Base car. Sub 1:40 in the LS per MT.Randy must of had a real bad day or the Boss LS he was driving wasn't running right. For a Road and track driver to beat him by over 3 seconds is a butt woopen.
