This will come off as arrogant and I don't really mean it like that in any way. That instructor you're talking about is me. I instruct for PCA, Audi and sometimes SCCA. The GT500 is just at a next level and I'd like to figure that out with someone who knows what its limits are. I'm just not really willing to do that on my own with a $100k car 😬
I need to find some HPDE in St. Louis.

This is highly dependent on your group. The instructor will only go as fast as the slowest student in your group. The second time I went, I was placed in the “fast group.” We hauled ass and were passing/lapping all the other groups.
Yes and no. It was me and someone else. We were both fast. The instructor slowed it down. Don't kid yourself, the instructors are not going to tow along two students anywhere near what the car is capable of.

If you want the "they trated me nice" feeling, you've come to the right place. If you want to explore what the car can do, look elsewhere.

Charlotte was a slow track and the lead/follow was slow as well.

It is what it is.

Plenty of good drivers in lesser cars laying the beat down on 'novice' drivers with much better cars. Those are facts.

How can someone disagree with this comment? Beat me...
You have 2 types of fast drivers, the ones that are fast because they have a fast car and the one they are fast because they are skilled......
I let you guess in which category most axxholes fall in...

And out of the woodwork comes the non-GT500 owners piping in with their expert GT500 impressions based upon auto journalist magazine articles 🙄

No, not really in reference to the subject matter. How do you have any idea if you've never driven the car?

Edit to add:
I'm interested to hear about your GT500 track attack impressions. Tell us about your highlights and the areas of the track attack that did not meet the mark.

I'm looking forward to your impressions based upon your personal experiences there. Isnt that what this thead is about?

I drove my buddies 812 superfast numerous times. 789 naturally aspirated horsepower. Never drove a GT500 though.

The argument isn’t if the 500 is a great car or not ( of course it is) but simply if a skilled driver with a lesser car can be faster than a 500 badly driven because in the hands of a novice.....
.and frankly I always enjoyed being a skilled driver with a fast car but, regardless of what I was racing, i alway also enjoyed watching a well driven Miata

At the e d of the day what really matter is not what you drive but rather how well you drive it......

Another winner.

Yes, we have another armchair quarterback who has no hands on experience with this car and this thread topic.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

A 1966 Chaparral 2E would destroy the GT500 on any track. Never driven either.

Wrong, if Tomster was the 500 driver, he would be lapping the 2E within the span of 2 laps.. and doing this feat concurrently with posting nonsense on this forum...🏎
