Challenge accepted ! As I said earlier, CV's failed cause you're throwing over 2 tons around corners at speed. The GT500 with stock horsepower (without a limiter) will never hit 200 mph because of its aerodynamics. Built like a brick to keep it planted like a brick thing. You'll need a lot more horsepower for that last 20 mph. How's that math ? Kentuckyish ? Haha.
Wrong. The GT500 has the hp to go over 200 and then some, the problem is Ford put that limit on the car for a reason, I think trying to go 200 would be dumb when Ford never intended the car to go that fast. Both the charger and challenger go over 200 and they are less aerodynamic than the GT500. The zl1 goes over 200 with 650 hp.

I'm looking but can't find the Ford advertisements where they stated the 2020 GT500 would hit 200 mph...

Great. Another troll.
So a difference of opinion constitutes being a troll ? Prove me wrong that throwing 2+ tons into corners at speed won't wreak havoc on the CV's, or that the GT500 aerodynamics prevent it from hitting 200 mph. Guess its easier to answer with 'troll' 🙄

100% agree plus the autobahn now has more speed limit restrictions in a lot more areas than there used to be "back in the day".

Very seldom do you get passed on the autobahn at those speeds. Most certainly not by a ‘300hp Golf.’

Some people crack me up with these theoretical scenarios that will never happen in real life. Let me give an example. I also have a Trackhawk which has a drag limited top speed of 180 mph (stock). You should check out this car crazy Russian guy (DSC off?) on youtube (recommend doing the English subtitles). He pitted his Trackhawk against the Bentley Bentayga on a 3+ mile (5 km) straight away. The Bentley was known as the "world's fastest production sUV" and has a 180+ mph top speed. Well when both cars went at it from a roll, the Bentley never had enough room to show that dominance. In fact, the Trackhawk's better acceleration put it so far back in the rear view mirror that it was no contest. There just wasn't enough room...

So in reality, very few cars (stock for stock) are going to be able to walk a GT500 as it is accelerating up to its 180 mph top speed...and there aren't many straights long enough to have a "lesser" car with a higher top speed catch it and pass it while it is cruising at that 180 mph speed.

And if I'm not mistaken it was in the 700+ HP range / doesn't 2020 have 800+ on the Super Snake?
Really don't make a hell of a difference . If its 181-182-190-200 {seen all these figures advertised i different web sites } Your ass is gonna be "puckered up" regardless. To our Yankee friends who might not be familiar with term "PUCKERED UP" ..... basically you need a new Drivers seat cover cuz your ass just bit a hole in it !!!!!!! Everyone chill ,OK ? This is all in fun and ain't worth getting your blood pressure up over . If I pissed a sensitive member off , I apologize . Junqdawg

The 2018 GT500.

I had one but crashed it while banging Salma Hayek on I-95 at over 200mph. Best car ever made.

If you guys are wondering how fast our 2020-2022 GT500's can go, it is much faster than 180. My PBD tune only car ran 186 standing mile and 195 - 1.5 mile and was still climbing pretty steadily. Just posting for the doubters. These cars roll baby!!!

I never doubted it and I agree. But how is that a practical metric? I think that is what the argument is.

It’s a holly shit I went 18x, 190x, 2xx mph balls to the wall metric. Fun meter pegged for some. Obviously not for your metric, but some really enjoy going fast in a straight line.
It’s what makes the world go round. Different strokes for different folks.
