I hope is not in Vegas or LA like some people says, but before...
When I asked if we will see it sooner or later, I was told later. I took that as later this year and likely not a car until 2019. But this is all cryptic noensense

Depends on what performance metric. In a roll race I’ll put my money on highest HP car.

Autoweek is going to be evaluating a Royal Crimson Mustang GT with manual trans. They say it only weighs 3705 pounds . If so , there is no way a GT 500 should be over 3850 pounds. It will be fun to read about all the things Autoweek does with the GT , like track days.

Yeah, 3705 with ZERO options...

A GT350 Track Pack weighs 3780 because it has BIG brakes. BIG wheels and tires. And lots and lots of coolers and additional fluid. It all adds up. Just like Camaro guys are like Oh my god it weighs 3685! Yeah...not in the way you actually buy it. A 2SS car weighs mid 3700's. An SS 1LE weighs 3745.

The Ford engineers will find components to lower weight of GT500. Wheels and tires may weigh more, but not much more. Remember , I am giving the GT500 up to 150 pounds more weight than the GT.

Carlisle Ford Nationals or the American Muscle show would be really good places to show it for the first time.

The DCT alone is 86lbs or so heavier that the 3160 lightweight model in the 350.

Wheels, brakes, tires, rear axles, thicker antiroll bars, potentially strengthened steel differential pumpkin cover. I’d say another 50-60 pounds there.

Blower, coolers, fluids, plumbing. Add another 125-150.

I believe the cross plane 5.2 is also slightly heavier than the FPC equivalent.

Larger diameter exhaust, manifolds. Add another 10 pounds.

Not sure if they had to add additional chassis reinforcement or not. Guess no.

All in all I can see 300+ pounds over and above a track pack 350. 4100# at least.

Hopefully an R at 3950-4000, but that’s the best we’ll likely see. I hope I’m wrong :(

Edit: add another 10-15 lbs for the emergency brake calipers, pads and linkages. Secondary calipers the 350 doesn’t have.
