I just found a R allocation and I have a couple questions about some of the options.

This will be mainly a track car so I want to go with the radio delete, does that also delete the cool rev HUD? Anyone know the weight difference with Electronics package?

Finally, I haven't been able to find any pictures of the radio\AC are on a non-electronics package, anyone have some good pictures?

Thanks a lot and looking forward to be part of this community

Edit: Btw, you don't get AC unless you get the Electronics Package.
Yeah I know, was curious how much the wheels and other weight reduction methods contributed.

Thanks!

The radio delete is just a plastic block out panel.

which looks rad, btw. lol
I think the best estimate is ~45 lb difference between a R with and without electronics.

It is indeed a nice piece of plastic, im sure that will get far more looks than any modern nav/infotainment system

Congrats. I've been looking for months and so have others. Let us know how you decide to spec it out.

I have also ordered the base R. In addition to the radio delete, this is the only model (of the 5 GT350 models) which do NOT get the oil pressure and temp gauges above the console (as shown in the pics above) FYI

Yeah, I figured you get these in the dash display anyway so no big loss...

Had been looking for a while too, seems some dealers are getting late allocations

Honestly, you have to lean so far to the side to accurately read the center gauges they'd be nearly worthless on track anyway. They really needed to angle them towards the driver.

I don't care for the tech pack myself. I wanted a R in the worst way and had to settle for a track pack lol. But I'm not a electronics kind of guy. I could careless about power seats, navigation, leather, dual hvac etc. nothing shows the age more then a radio system. In a few short years that navigation system will be dated. I'd rather not have a radio at all like the R. The voodoo is music to my ears!

If you lived in Dallas, you may reconsider the A/C:shrug:

So uh.. am I the only one who is concerned with the more practical matters of owning a R, like if someone rear ends you and cracks the rear wing. IIRC thats a $10k+ OEM part. If the CF wheels get damaged or stolen, thats ~$30k. How does insurance payout even work like that, or why would they insure a car that the wheels alone would cost ~half of the cars MSRP to replace.
