Nice to know the roof looks strong, well if there isn't a bar or cage in there..

So because I shared a photo of a GT350 I found on Facebook it's bad karma...... Didn't know there were limitations to content that can be posted dealing with accidents and photos. Seems silly to bring karma into this. It's like taking a picture of an fender bender and sending it to a friend. Is that bad karma too?
I don't think it's bad Karma at all. Shit happens. As long as the guy is OK, that's what matters.

Look at the guy that almost hit spectators in Houston with his GT350, that video has millions of views and was shared by about a dozen people.

Nowdays, you have to expect that EVERYTHING is being recorded.

Right! I give the guy props for crashing it on the track! :headbang:

Could have been much worse crashing it in the "wild"... something most of us saw pictures of just a few days ago. :(

On a fishing forum I am on a guy was there and had pics. I am waiting to get the full story from him but I imagine it is as described previously.

I don't agree with the bad Karma statement either. It's not an evil intent posting that pic just information. Now making fun of the wreck would cause you some bad karma.

So I got an update on the guy that crashed from the photographer that took it. He does all of the tracks professional shoots. The driver had a Passanger, both seem to be fine. It happened at turn 4 going in the reverse direction. The driver just lost focus and took the corner too fast.

Interesting. The guy who was at the track driving his Bullitt said this:

The corner worker said the guy drove straight off the corner like it wasn't even there then went up onto the tire wall and rolled it.

I agree I t's pretty much bad karma to post pics of someone else's misfortune on track. Let the guy who did it have a chance to tell his story. A guy who takes the car out to do what it's intended to do shouldn't have to sweat pics on the internet from a bystander. He's earned some respect and already punished with the car damage. I've found most everyone at a road course understands this unwritten rule. And unlike drag racing, the mutual respect and high class of folks at road courses are a big part of what makes it fun. You don't have to chain down your tires or worry about locking your car at a track event. It's refreshing. There's no reason to f up the peace and fellowship imho.

The photo was posted on Facebook by the gentleman that does all of their professional photography. I've known him for a few years now and he wouldn't put anything online that the owners wouldn't want on there.

I've always felt that between car enthusiasts - the "car guy" and respectable thing to do would be to NOT post pictures of others misfortunes. An accident out on the street, whatever. An accident at an HPDE or otherwise paid for/invitation/private track event...be a car guy and leave your phone in your pocket. Do what your momma told you, "what if that happened to you?".

Bad Karma!!!???!! Who gives a flying fudge!!! LOL Why report the news? Why report on crashes? Why report the what is going on in the world? Being that this was at a track event I am sure that the images were release with the permission of the driver as are most events that have photographers.

What difference does it make if it's on the street or track? I don't see the difference between wrecking on the track and wrecking on the street. If this was my car and I saw this post I'd be happy to see that the one thing people are most concerned about is if the driver was ok. Like I've said from the beginning, the person that took the photo took it because it's his job. This wasn't someone that saw it and took a photo. If I didn't post the picture it would have been posted anyway by someone else. The other thing I think all y'all that seem to want to bring karma into this is that no one here is making fun of the guy. I've crashed at this track before on a bike and had my photo taken of it and was happy to see that people cared more about if I was ok and that no one was making fun of it even though it was not my fault in the accident. I never once thought it was disrespectful that someone took a picture of it. We, as people, are fascinated by accidents for some reason. So I'm sorry if by posting a photo that was already on the biggest social media website out there onto this forum was disrespectful or conjuring up bad karma. If it pleases those that are already displeased just take the post down mods.

That's what I've been trying to get through to everyone! They were taken by the TRACK PHOTOGRAPHER ON THE HALLETT FACEBOOK PAGE. He would never post a photo of a wreck with injury or against the owners permission.

In all fairness - you're assuming the driver gave permission. The speed that news travels these days, it's easy to imagine a situation where someone dies at an event and the loved ones find out from instagram. I can only imagine that most people, given the choice, would elect to NOT have pictures of their wrecks on the webz.

For the record, if I wreck on-track, I don't want the pictures floating out there.
