What I was told about the pearl is that there is no metal in it. Pearl is either powder or liquid, and metallic is by nature more rough. I hadn't been told by either shop that metal is in the Shadow Black but I have not seen the color in person to tell you for sure. I think "ThePill" in this forum would be the most knowledgeable since he seems to be in the paint world, just my opinion. Maybe others that have seen it in person would have a better point of reference besides the paint shops I have been talking to.

G1 - which is something SW had confirmed before spraying it out.
When I pulled G1 it comes up for Ford America as Absolute Black, but is for the 2015-2016 model years. It does have a fine blue pearl as well as a metallic mix in it.

Thank you..I read this as well....so anyone see the black "R" in person? and if so, could you tell if there was a pearl or metal flake (small) in the clear or paint?

None of the colors are very appealing to me; magnetic is the front-runner so far. The orange that ahddm photoshopped on page 16 of this thread looks pretty awesome, though.

Is anyone thinking of re-painting or applying a vinyl wrap?

Are you serious? Like, unless you want a full custom show car, why would you do that just because you didn't like the color? I doubt that many people would be thinking that direction at all.

I'll be doing a vinyl mostly for paint protection on the track.

Yes, In multi-cam or urban camo in digital camo format, scaled correctly for vehicle size. I was told this was illegal in some states but that's like saying I can't have butter on toast. f-that.

My thoughts too and the wrap choices I like would protect a white, black, or avalanche grey color just fine.

Ditto.
Not having a lighter silver or better blue available is a shame. Color is probably the reason I'm going to wait to see what comes out next year, doesn't make sense to buy a car where you're settling on paint color.... If Liquid blue is too labor intensive or "heavy" blah, blah, then develop a blue that at least looks as good as all the other manufacturers. Audis "Sepang Blue" for example. Or maybe Ford can ask Toyota for help and inquire how they did it on a $20k car w/"Blue Streak Metallic" :frusty: :headbonk:
