I'm interested to see how it goes. The reason the thread is locked on their sponsor page is because I asked for some kind of testing numbers or proof and they deleted it on 5 different occasions. They said they were going to post numbers and never did in another thread, so I've stayed away from their products, although I do still like the design. Hope you like it though! The system is competitively priced particularly since it is aluminum instead of plastic and it's one of few systems that allows for sound tube removal without adding a giant plug on your intake. (I am currently using a folding chair rubber foot)
It also appears to be the only truly cold air intake anyone has to offer since it is not sitting in a hot box right against the engine but rather directly in the flow of air in a section of the engine compartment that is cool even with the engine running.
I am also much more confident in their dyno numbers than the "up to 31hp gained" some others are claiming. Yes on a dyno, with hood open, with all heat disapating, and unlimited air supply they probably get those numbers. But the MMR setup the dyno should be much more representative of the street. (15 untuned and 20 with moderate tune is what I received from MMR).

Running it to the fender doesnt do much either. The air doesnt have time to heat up as long as its moving. JLT grasped this concept. Best box IMO is the Airaid or a modified stock box.Agreed that all cais including the stock one have access to the grill air inlet but the difference is most of them including the stock one sit in a very hot part of the engine compartment, right against the engine.
Where? mine runs at 5-7 degrees over ambient and it s 102 plus humifiy here. Stock box.It has more than enough time to heat up. The stock box gets 14 degrees over outside when it's 90 degrees out even with cruise set at 80 for an hour.
the "cai" out there are not true "cai". more or less a short ram air intake. the box gets heat soaked from being so close to the engine. i think MMR is great design. i just have not seen dyno sheets. i bet it will be competitive with the other brands. and like OP said, cannot beat that price. im jumping on this bus. ill order one too OPThing is the factory CAI already has access to cool air in front of the car. I Do agree that the filter surface are is small stock.

aluminum does a pretty good job of dissipating heat. i dont see it being a problemI too have been looking at the MMR intake. Not to concerned with the power numbers.
