I've noticed that the GTs have different lower grills. I thought it was the difference between the 6-speed manual and the automatics, but that can't be why as the two photos below are both GTs with the 6-speed manual. My GT (built in Dec 2014) has the same lower grill shown in the 2nd photo.

I'm wondering if Ford changed the lower grill design for some reason?

I believe you get the "closed off" lower grill if you get adaptive cruise control or the 50th anniversary appearance package.

fwiw...my GT built on 3/10 has the grill in the second picture. No adaptive cruise or 50th package.

Many threads on this....

If you're far enough north to get the block heater added automatically at the factory, you get the grille also used on the adaptive cruise cars. The states that get it are in the order guide.

Of course, I'm sure there are exceptions.

My car has no adaptive cruise, but has the grille for it shown at the top.

No CC, block heater or 50th. I really hope mine doesn't end up with the top one when it gets here.

You should have the 2nd grille... with fangs in the upper and lower sections.

The 3 things that get you this grill:

1. 50th Anniversary Package
2. Block Heater
3. ACC

That's what I was thinking and why I passed up on the 50th even though I prefer those seats more.

You can still add premier trim which gives you the highest quality interior seats and trim however no 50th Anv logo on the seat or the trim!

I did the trim upgrade. I like the 50th logo. Would have went with recaros if i didn't have to give up heated/cooled seats. Wasn't worried much about the power seats.

The grill on the top is on the V6 models. Go on fords website and compare the 2. Apparently ford was putting them on the wrong cars

wrong. its not just v6. its ACC. This is the reason I didnt get ACC on my gt pp. Not a fan of that lower closed off grill

Initially I ordered my PP in CO with the ACC...came back home and read a post on this site about the diff grills. Went back to the dealer the next day and had them remove the ACC, 50th App Pkg and the color to DIB. AND the car still has all the bells & whistles that are standard on a GTPP.

The lower grill is a dumb reason not to get a package. You guys do realize you can get different lower grilles for like $100 and just swap them out right?

Also the ACC, engine block heater, 50th grill is not any more closed off than the other one.

Additionally there is a lot more interior upgrades than just the stamp on the seat with the 50th package

The whole dash panel is different as well as the stitching
