Id read all the time as a kid, as an adult reading a book gives me headaches… web and tablet reading does not bother me….
Now i do audible books when on long rides - except not really when im in my mustang… that exhaust sounds better with music in the background…

Hello; Read as a child. Read as an adult. Read as an old man. I go to McKays in Knoxville TN which sells used books, CD's, DVD's, electronics and more.

Yes, and no. I liked reading and learning, but didn't like having to look like a freak doing it.
I could read normal speed only if I turn a book upside down and by looking at it through a mirror. If I read a book normally, It is a slow go and I lose my place I'm reading very easily.
Doctors when in my 50's told me it is a form of dyslexia.
Still love reading, I do wish computers could show text in the way discribed above .

I love to read, always have. Nothing like relaxing in a favorite comfortable spot with a good book. Reading on a computer or even a Kindle or similar doesn't do it for me. For some reason I have to have the tactile page turning, and even the smell of a book.

I have a couple of stacks of books I have yet to get to. The only problem is finding the time. 🙁

As a kid, I avoided reading like the plague. I HATED reading. I would only read if I absolutely had to in class, and even then I would try to fake it. I would just day dream in my book and never actually turn the page. In my defense though - the books that were given to us kids were awful. They were so boring and pointless.

Amazingly, my father listened to my complaints about reading and he started giving me more interesting books. War of the Worlds, The Time Machine, and a few other classics. I like those better - but I still didn't enjoy reading.

As an adult I have actually found the joy in reading. I love reading philosophy and psychology during my lunch. Unfortunately, now that I enjoy it - I don't really have much time for it nowadays.

It's just a curious question....

Growing up through your childhood/schooling - did you dislike reading books?

But now find yourself reading all the time, anything and everything on the web - like right now?

What's the difference between not wanting to read a book and reading on your mobile device/Computer?

LMAO.... 😂
I was a voracious young reader and always loved reading books as a kid and continued into my late 30s. Since then only magazines, manuals, and online material.

I find that now I dont have the patience to read an entire book.

I was an avid reader as a child. I think that my reading led to good writing skills as well. I was a strong tecnical writer throughout my career. As an adult, I don't read much for pleasure, but maybe I should. Problem is, no matter how long a book is, I can't put it aside once I start. lol.

Loved reading when I was a youngster and even more now. I prefer books, especially leather bound gilt edge. I have magazines that I have kept from 30 years ago. I buy books and read them like crazy. Once I own them they cannot be edited like is happening nowadays. Tend toward history especially US between 1850 to 1920. Yup, really enjoy reading.

Nowadays, those books are more valuable than gold. It contains both wonderful and precious memories.

I have always enjoyed reading. At one time, I could easily read 3 or 4 good sized books a week. I don't read as much or as fast as I used to, but that's true for everything in my life. With books, you imagination creates the setting. When they make a movie of a book you read, it is often a disappointment, it lacks depth.
