I have a garage attic full of PP parts. Springs, sway bars, shock tower brace came off the car at 100 miles. Shocks, struts, and Steeda springs coming off in 2 weeks with only 1900 miles on them. That's if anyone is interested in doing some PP stuff or lowering their car I'll be selling it all then.

With the non PP don't forget you will definitely need the bigger radiator if you SC for cooling. If your modding your car get the PP. you'll be miles ahead to start! As for the gears and gas mileage,,,,,, it all depends on how much your foot in it.

If you want the main more costly parts of the PP it is 100% worth it.
I can't believe people complain about the harsh ride of the PP. It is so damn smooth stock and not anywhere near harsh unless comparing it to a rolls royce or something. I guess all of my recent cars have been performance cars but still. Even with lowering springs, sway bars and bmr rear cradle lock it is not harsh..

Of the PP parts I am definitely keeping the gears and rear end, brakes, upgraded cooling, k brace, gauges etc. Those parts a lone it is by far worth it. Brake package is sold for like $1300+ if you buy it after the fact from ford racing.

Buying the car below MSPR the PP option probably comes down under $2000 as well. Wheels I still have and much better than any of the skinny options. Tires aren't great but I'd take them over any of the other all season tires ford offers.
I will be replacing wheels and tires once the tires are worn.
If you don't plan to mod the car at all, you'd be crazy to not get the PP. Without it the stock car feels really sloppy and floaty. Was not a fan of this car at all until I drove the PP.

I dont see why people make the bumpy road complaints about the PP. Maybe its just me or the fact of riding in lowered imports or liking off roading in trucks. I really dont think bumps are worse than most cars out there. I got the PP as i knew it would be a slow build process. Plus i knew id be happy doing an exhaust and short shifter and that would get me by for awhile. Of course i wanna do some cosmetic int/ext upgrades toextOnly thing suspension wise i am thinking of doing right away is the CB005 from BMR for wheel hop.

What do you want the car for? If you want to go to track days, get the PP.

If you want a fun daily driver, ask yourself whether the rougher ride of the PP is worth it.

I got the non-PP GT after driving the PP first. Over bumpy roads there is a big difference. On the other hand, you do get more squat and dive under hard acceleration with the non-PP. Depends on what you want.

Note for me the GT is my daily driver. I already have a car for the track. After many posts here and exploring lots of possibilities, I am going to keep my GT non-PP just the way it is. Eventually I might get Pilot SS tires, though.

This is the prefect response.

+1
I DD my PP in DC, even in bumper to bumper traffic or spirited driving I don't feel like the ride is harsh at all. Damn crybabies..

A bigger radiator won't be necessary for F/I.
one forum posting I read said that the Roush TVS type S/C run cooler than something like Whipple, when moving at slower speeds, such as crawling along in rush hour traffic, in Texas, in August. I don't know the technicals, but if that is the case, more radiator is better.

As near as I can tell humans have a need to justify their own actions by promoting it to others. Anyone who bought a PP is going to suggest you do the same, and anyone who didn't will explain why you shouldn't too. It is just a sucky thing we do. That's why everyone with a CAI won't tolerated anyone else suggesting it's anything but the cats meow. Or why a guy running 93 octane just can't understand why anyone would suggest using 87. I love/hate forums at the same time, just have to be super careful on who's opinion you take as half the time they are telling you something to make themselves feel good about something they've spent money on, even if it wasn't the most bang for the buck.

Inconveniences I experienced with the PP were pretty much eliminated once I switched to my Michelin Pilot A/S3 tires. Rides nice in the rain, significantly reduced tramlining, smoother ride, less worrying about the temp and weather. Not cheap tires, but a big transformation.

The brakes and gears were my reason for ordering the PP, the rest is just tasty gravy. I do all my own work, and swapping gears is a pain in the ass so that alone was worth checking the PP box, at least for me.

However, if I was into drag racing like I was 20 years ago, I would have been hard pressed to buy an auto car and add key mods.

Then why haven't any of the F/I guys upgraded their radiators then?
