I like to disassemble things.
Do we have confirmation that any of the popped Voodoo's have been repaired yet? This makes 5 I believe; others being derpington, itlrun, svt performance had one, and the one at Voodooo's dealership.
Six. GT350R owner popped his motor at Road Atlanta but has remained quiet about it.

ITLRUN didn't look like an engine problem
Oh right, I forgot. So, 4.

Nevermind, 5 haha.

It just worries me we haven't seen a quick turn around time on repairs. Warranty is great, but only when it works. Some of these people have been SOL for 2+ months it seems.

Also Hizlibullet (or something like that). He has been more active recently so I hope that implies he's close to being fixed...

I haven't heard of a "quick" engine replacement from any manufacturer under warranty. They want to understand what broke and if its a design or part manufacture problem. I'm sure everyone of these prompts more than a few pages of paperwork and meetings in Dearborn. This is part of the risk that comes with being an early adopter of a first-year engine.

1 month to knowing IF a fix is coming is understandable. Enough time for the dealer and techs to diagnose if it was done by customer or if it was a defect and provide warranty. Part failure meetings at Ford engineering won't hold this up, that team is there to find out if the issue (customer inflicted or not) is a legitimate issue. They don't care about the warranty process, they just try and find out if issues will be wide-spread and demand a recall or not.

I just want to know what the time table looks like for repairs to this car.

There is also a pre-sale engine replacement car out here in WA.

Quick update - Took forever to find a competent towing company that could load the car:frusty:. Got the car to the dealership right before closing. They looked at it very briefly and started it up. The engine sounds fine:clap2:. They will investigate where the coolant is leaking from and find out why one of the belts shredded (both belts came off in the process). I'm right at the 1,000 miles and have not done the first service (I bought all the stuff to do it, but letting dealership do it since it is there). I'll know more on Monday.

Sounds promising, I hope it all works out for you. You definitely made the right call by not starting the motor. Just get it to Ford and let them deal with it.

Fringers crossed here as well... Shredded belt took out the radiador tank or some coolant lines in thinking???. So chalk it up to faulty belt I'm hoping nothing major and we can all sleep tonight.

Update:

So, I was at a local small town track for my first track event with the R. Packed everything for what was to be an all day track event. Lucky for me, only a handful of people showed up and 6 of us had the track all to ourselves with no run groups or what not for the next 7 hours. The track is small and not very technical but I wanted to do something close and small to get a feel for the the car's capabilities.

We did our two parade laps to get things moving. Came back in and got the GoPro and safety gear on. Went back out, and just playing. Started to put a little more speed (no where near the car's full potential) on the third lap and BAM. Multiple error messages (water temp to low, unable to read, battey lights, temp light, engine light). Engine would only run at roughly 1900 RPM. I had just passed the paddock exit and had to putter along to get back to the paddock.

Once back in the paddock, I shut her down immediately and looked under the hood. One belt was shredded to almost nothing, the other belt was fully intact but laying on the pan under the engine. I also noticed that the coolant in the reservoir was draining rapidly. WELL THIS SUCKS! Obviously, the panic of, WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED sets in. It was followed up by feeling of embarrassment. Here I am talking with the other track drivers before the event about "the most track capable Mustang ever" yadda yadda (not in a bragging way). I didn't do anything else. Had it towed to my dealer I bought it from.

Dealer finally looked at it yesterday/today and looked everything over. Other than the missing two belts and no coolant in the reservoir, they couldn't find any issues. They installed two new belts, filled/flush the coolant system and said it is good to go. Since I am in Atlanta finishing up some Skip Barber "stuff", I had my sister pick it up. She says no issues.

So, what does this mean? I guess I could have just been the lucky SOB that had a defective belt? Still confused why the coolant reservoir would drain. Anyhow, I will redeem the 350 name at this track at the next event. I'm glad it was something simple, but geez did it scare me.

The one at my local dealership is still there. It's been over a month.

Glad your car is ok and it was a minor issue

I understand why you didn't post the whole story from the beginning in case ford read it happened while racing, but then why post it at all? If you had included all the information from the beginning Im sure guys wouldn't have been jumping on the "another blown motor" bandwagon. Your original post made it sound like your motor just blew up while you were out for a Sunday drive with aunt mable and you got stuck on the side of the road in the wrong part of town and the sky was falling
