Don't vent, just cancel like I did. I ordered 5-28. It was shown on cotus to be delivered 10-9 t0 10-15. It disappeared on cotus, I gave them the finger. Dealer does not know anything and only say my car is in "flat rock" My car has been built for 30 days. You can rent them, Canada folks are getting them, I will re-order when this f'ing bull crap stops.

Anyone want a DIB in the Denver area........it's available. Winter is around the corner.

I walked into my dealer on 5/20 and put down $1,000 for a retail order and received my VIN this morning.......
I got my vin today too. But I didn't order until Sept 29th. Got lucky I guess.

I've special ordered well over a dozen cars during my life. If the car is in production when you order, it can arrive as soon as 6 weeks. If you order before production starts, it's anybody's guess.

I always tell folks that, when you decide to special order a car, just know that your car will be delivered when it's delivered. That's really all you can plan for when you special order. There are so many variables at play.

If that's not acceptable, then you're really better off buying dealer stock.

we have felt your pain since May 21, hang in there. Those of us that ordered LE's in May cant track our orders on cotus and we still dont have our mustangs
Totally feel your pain. I ordered on May 20th and well my dealer messed up and put me as a priority 99 which means I probably would of never got my car. Wasn't until September I realized this and had a HUGE problem with my dealership so he re-orderered the entire car as the way it was supposed to be ordered and I got my VIN number the next day...... Car is in transit now.

It sounds like there are quite a few dealers out there who are not very proficient at special orders. I had almost the exact same experience (after I had to convince the dealership that May 20th was indeed the day the order banks opened). When I realized they had my order on a hold code, I asked for my deposit back and went to a dealership that does a large amount of fleet ordering. The ordering process with them was so much easier.

Everyone hang in there; the wait for VINs, bumped scheduling, and lack of dealer knowledge will all go away the first time you hit the start button.

I'm probably wrong, but I've been informed that most car manufacturers particularly with a new model don't actually schedule any commercial builds until about 2 weeks prior to the start of production. I've also been told that the Build dates are not exact, actually not even close, apparently an order is given a 2 week window, and during this time, build materials are set up for an actual build start date, once that is in the system an actual build date is assigned. I've been seeing order dates recently that the build date was only 3 to 4 weeks after the order, and expected delivery was less than 3 weeks after that.... All that being said, this is all hear say evidence, I think we need to tap into someone who works at Flatrock!

I placed an order July 14. It was placed as Dealer stock, in the dealers' original allocation. He was convinced he would have his "launch cars" in late September. Not so much. He got a V6 in early October. Another V6 is stuck in QC in Michigan. And my car got built today! So it should be in CA in mid-November or so. But what's an extra couple of months among friends?

So, I wasn't very enthusiastic about the idea of waiting (patience has never been a strong suit of mine). I found a car about 150 miles away that's nearly identical to what I ordered except this one has a black interior, instead of red, and it has navigation whereas on the one I ordered I requested the adaptive cruise/rain sensing wipers (I think I was the only one in America who did this lol).

Anyway, I pick up my new 2015 on monday! Already texted my boss and told him I'm taking the day off. His response, "Send me some pics!"

Really dude? I ordered mine on 5/20. I won't see it until mid November.

This is getting t be the norm. People order a few weeks ago and scream they don't have their car right away. Meanwhile this is another guy who gets his car before most of us in the 5 month club who are still waiting

Hey why dont u read before u go off, the guy canceled his order because he didnt want to wait, so he looked around at dealers and found one close to what he was looking for.So u can do the same thing, cancel ur order and start looking, but read all the post before u fly off the handle.
