Gotta Vent about My Order

Ok, I gotta vent somewhere so I don't go all incredible Hulk over the dealer... I ordered a 2015 Ecoboost Premium on September 20th... Every week since then I've been emailing the dealer asking if everything was on track.. Finally, this week, I discovered this forum and found out about www.cotus.ford.com. I look up my order and thing hasn't even been scheduled yet! Call the dealer and they were like "huh?" So I heard about Rachel, FordService, and I sent her a message. She asks me "Are you sure that's the right order number?" And I said yes it is. She said "well, that's a dealer stock order and not a retail order." :frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty:

So, today my order gets switched to a retail order but they couldn't give me any idea when my car will get here.... This has led to a great sadness in my household as I was originally told I would be receiving my car on Nov. 1st.

Each day it seems someone pops up and starts getting upset that their car is not gonna be done in 6 weeks. A lot of us have been waiting sense may and still don't have our cars. Sorry the dealer lied to you maybe look for a different one.

we have felt your pain since May 21, hang in there. Those of us that ordered LE's in May cant track our orders on cotus and we still dont have our mustangs

all I have to go off of is what the dealer tells me. I hadn't heard about this forum yet and I am starting to find out how peoples orders have been coming along....

My rant was more about how they didn't order the car correctly in the first place and essentially wasted the last month. I feel like I'm starting over in the whole waiting game that we are all in

There are people who ordered their cars four full months before you who haven't been scheduled yet. I ordered my car three full months before you and haven't been scheduled yet. Be patient.

I also wanted to take the time and say what a great forum this is. There's a lot of helpful information out there and I look forward to swapping car stories and info with you all in the future!

OP, some dealers ordered their customer cars as stock orders because those were being filled BEFORE retail orders. Your dealer may have been trying to help you get your car faster....

If that were the case I would think that they would have said something about it... Instead the acted like they had screwed up

Everybody who has a car at the moment has one that was ordered as dealer stock. Nobody who has a retail order has actually received their cars yet.

Dealer stock orders took priority for scheduling up through early September; after that, retail orders took priority. So if you placed your order after early September, retail orders will get placed ahead of stock orders in line.

Your dealer was doing you a favor to get your order in as stock unit. All our stock units show up before retail orders.

Lets just hope switching it at this point doesnt cause you further delay and grief.

Sounds like you're dealing with a dealer who doesnt know what theyre doing.

Besides the fact that you have ordered your vehicle much later than others here who still waiting on their orders, part of your delay could also be that the dealer you dealing with doesnt sell many Mustangs and doesnt have allocations for one to be built. I would at this point either switch dealer or start looking inventory and see if there's one out there that will match what you ordered.

I walked into my dealer on 5/20 and put down $1,000 for a retail order and received my VIN this morning.......
