This is exactly what happened to me! I threatened the dealer with cancelling my order and they ended up giving me a car exactly like I wanted except for the color. And to be honest I think I like the color they are giving me more!
Anyways, I am picking up my car tomorrow morning! Sure as hell beats waiting until mid December to pick it up when there is snow on the ground!
Lots of haters on this site WILL NOT have any sympathy for you. Mostly because they have waited MUCH longer, but the way I look at it is simple...you went in, made a deal, they told you one thing and another happened. YOU are owed something!

People are very helpful here. It just gets old when someone who has just ordered a vehicle 6 weeks ago (not OP just an example) comes here and raises hell without realizing that others have waited for almost 6 months. :frusty::headbonk:
But no one is hating. This is community of mustang loving friends. :ford:

I wonder how many MAY JUNE and JULY order guys that don't have VINS wanna scream at this guy. My advice read the forums, educate yourself on the process, then judge if you should vent or not. Arabian congrats on car tomorrow! Those P-Zeros are expensive don't do too many burn outs.

Imagine camping outside for 3 days for some hot new product you got to have, then some guy shows up one hour after the store opens the day it comes out and is bitching in ur face because there sold out and you got one. I believe stock orders showed up sooner for the initial run before the OKTB, but if either are on a list today to be built the retail will take priority. He may be able to pick up a stock order that was built before he placed his order. I agree its not really much of a screw up though.

the most helpful advice I can give you: Do not bother the dealer (and I don't mean this in reference to when you checked your order). Because this will be a process over a few months, check in no more often than every week, and only if there is an actual problem (ex. heard about a parts constraint, 4 days to delivery but it hasn't even shipped, tornado derailment, etc.) When you do actually reach out, they wont mind helping you out and might even advocate for you to Ford. The dealer has very little power; they cannot just roll out the red carpet to your car because you have been waiting. I have had excellent success so far with that game plan.
Its a period in your life where you have to pick up a hobby or some shit like that to help pass the time. Every time COITUS reaches a new phase a little party explodes in your head
