Golfer, MFT will play m4a files. You might check to make sure that your folder structure is not too deep. I use dBpoweramp to rip CDs or batch convert and my files are generally 44.1 KHz/16 bit/256 kbps.

The plain UVS100 is available. Unfortunately, you cannot get the 50 Years logo on the screen for the 2015. Got this via email today, "The 50th Anniversary logo’s do not carry over to the 2015. The end with the 2014 models." Too bad they are missing out on sales for the 2015 with the 50th logo.
