Good quality Aluminum paddle shifters?

Hi guys,

I'm swapping out my steering wheel soon and i figure why not get some good quality aluminum paddle shifters. I really dont use them, i let the trans shift on its own. But the small plastic paddles are small and ugly. Figure why not swap in some new ones while im in there.

These are PRICY, 3d printed. I have the old, not aluminum ones. MUCH better than stock.
I had an issue in another car with those long pointy ones. These are subtle. The last photo is what I have.

One thing I think you should consider - the micro switches for the paddles do not actuate well with long paddles. When pulling near the top of a long aftermarket paddle, there is a twisting force applied to the switch and it kinda gets stuck and won't actuate. So the OEM short paddles work best.

Some driving instructors insist on the hands at 9 and 3 position, which works well for paddle shifting. Although it's hard to get a grip on the wheel.

If you are looking just for a style change and won't really use them much, then none of what I said matters, but I thought I should point this out before you discover that your paddles no longer operate so well.

I noticed the same thing when I installed these but it was after I put in the new steering wheel as well. They won't make a connection up near the point.

I feel what you’ve mentioned about activation has merit, however, for whatever reason mine have never failed me. Not that I use the paddles a lot, but on days like today heading to the coast they got a workout with no issues. I’m definitely conscious about not hitting the tips though.

Plus I love how they look in black. Very happy with mine.

Yea it's a good look.
Just don't forget to to swap the counter weights in the wheel like I did.
Turned an easy swap into a time consuming deal
