OPGs aren't necessary. Tons of cars running around with out em including mine, boosted since 2018.He's not wrong on additional parts you will want. Did you change out the factory OPG and crank sprocket? That's a $3000 parts and labor job in and of itself. You can do it yourself but will still have added cost of parts. Your going to need to at the very least upgrade to bigger injectors and a Boost a pump. You will need new spark plugs a colder thermostat 170°. You will need a dual valve catch can. Your going to need a tuner and a custom tune for boosted application. $1000 is a good estimate for that. Plus gaskets and seals for OPG job. DO NOT SKIP doing OPG. The factory gears are weak and when they let loose you need a motor. So yes $3000 additional is a safe guess. Heres a picture of factory OPG. I dropped this gear from waiste height and it broke.![]()
