Hello; I read that part and thought back to the solution for storing excess electricity during peak production times for later use. The notion that all the personal property (BEV's) of private citizens will be the battery backup storage for the grid during off peak times.
We will be little cogs in the machine.

Hello; This is way off topic but illustrates a popular philosophy. I had C-SPANS Washington Journal on this morning. One segment was about the cost of childcare. Lots of call ins about how expensive daycare and childcare is. There was a guest expert on also. What it boiled down to was a call for the government to somehow provide childcare for all.
Just something else to add to the long list of things to be paid for with someone else's money.

I often meet acquaintances with new babies. I tend to think of a new baby as being as expensive as a Ferrari.

How does this in any way relate to the BEV topic? Mostly in that the changeover to all BEV's and the upgrades needed to the grid to support them is expensive. These tricks to make privately owned property a storage fix for the green" grid or to charge some folks more for the same electricity is part of the same sort of pattern.

I have no idea whether I’d support or oppose the idea. BUT….
I wonder if the people strongly opposing it will later complain that they’re being “forced” to buy Chinese vehicles later on (Eg, cars they can actually afford to buy, when compared to the US manufactured equivalent).

The other question I’d be asking them is whether they feel the same way about traditional ICE vehicles.

It’s probably reasonable to assume that a good portion of the “strongly oppose” camp might also fit into the same box regardless of the motive power source. Eg. They simply oppose their taxes being spent on tax incentives, regardless of what the incentive might actually be used for.

Would you like to take a few (educated) guesses as to why Californian power is so expensive? There are several factors, as you’d expect.
Have a think about it and come up with some proper reasons why you think it might be the case.

Don't need to guess, educated or not. Cali's problems are well known in this Country.

They simply oppose their taxes being spent on tax incentives, regardless of what the incentive might actually be used for.

Hello; I understand what you mean (maybe). Here in the USA the costs of manufacture can be higher than places with more lax environmental regulations or poorer wages.
That China's relative disregard for todays emissions might give them an edge on pricing.
That agencies such as OSHA here enforce safety standards which make it cost more to run a business.

But wait. I'll wager you have something else in mind.
