We must get off fossil fuel vehicles and the only way to make the transition is to bite the bullet and just do it. Sure there will be growing pains but in the end we will all be much better off. If we stay on gas powered vehicles many more years Saudi Arabia is going to own all of us.

We have more recoverable oil than Saudi Arabia.

The war on fossil fuel's is strictly political.

Hello; A question and later a quip. Question is why must we get off fossil fuels? I know of two common answers given. One is the fossil fuels will run out. Another is the pollution from using them.
To the running out there is a different term often used. That being recoverable amounts will dwindle. Such was thought to be the case for crude oil back in the early 2000's. New recovery techniques allowed more recovery from old wells. Also the tar deposits were begun to be recovered in Canada.
If you mean, we must stop using fossil fuels because of alarmism about things such as Co2 or methane emissions then I suggest going back and reading thru this entire thread. The notion of doing away with a functioning energy and transport system because it is "dirty" and replacing it with a BEV and "green" energy system because it will be clean has many flaws. Flaws clearly pointed out in these many pages.

The proposed new systems are not all that clean. On top of not being a clean salvation for the planet as an energy and transport system there is the issue of how much of these "green" bits and pieces are currently being made in other places. Which brings me to the quip about who will own us. China is on the way to own us if we become reliant on solar +wind for our energy grid simply because China is become the source of so many critical parts of the battery + wind + solar equipment and raw materials. An irony is to produce these bits and pieces China is building and putting into use multiple (maybe 8) new coal fired power plants per month. So other countries become dependent on critical materials for their grid and for transportation. Not exactly a clever way to avoid being owned by the Saudis.

Study finds more evidence gas stoves are bad for human health: ‘Worse than secondhand smoke’

They said a year ago "we aren't going to take away your gas stove"
Hello; Similar to how they at first said Covid procedures would not be mandatory. Aside from that I grew up in a house heated with natural gas heaters plus natural gas cook stoves. Many millions have lived in such homes. They do not go so much after the gas furnaces as they can be vented to the outside.
The cook stoves and ovens are not vented. The small gas heaters used in my childhood home were not vented. The main furnace was vented.

I've had natural or LP gas stoves my entire life. Just another example of the killing kids play book to ban a thing some don't like.

Hello; While listening to Washington Journal this morning heard an interesting thing. Congressman Brad Sherman was talking. He stated an interesting bit about crypto currency mining. Has to do with Co2 emissions is the why behind this post.

For those who do not know somehow folks can create crypto wealth by using up a lot of electricity. You have a computer run programs which solve difficult math problems. (my take from reading about it so may not be accurate) The greater number of computers you can have running 24/7 then the more crypto wealth you can accumulate.
These crypto mines have wound up with the creation of small warehouse sized arrays of computers running the math problems. There is one on a ridge between Maynardville and Tazewell TN. I can see it while driving on Hwy 33. It made the local news a few years ago when neighbors complained of the noise. Seems these complexes run lots of fans/ AC units to keep the computers cool.

Congressman Sherman said the crypto mines emit as much Co2 as five USA states. He did not name the states. I guess it is from the use of electricity. I had read before that these crypto mines use as much as 1% of the total electricity generated each year. That is a lot of electricity. I tend to think of this when I hear of electricity brown or black outs, or when I am asked to cut back on my electric use during cold or hot spells. I have posted on this before but do not get a response from the BEV/Green energy champions.

By the way seems the champions may have, as a unit, abandoned this thread or perhaps have most of us on ignore lately. Maybe they have gone back to the Science is Cancelled thread where they have a safe space created during the covid "misinformation" tactics.

Waiting for you to be the first to lead the charge. On this thread there is a lot of “green” talkin‘ but not a lot of “green” walkin’.

Agreed. The irony of it all.

More tin foil hat crap from the powers that be.

Clouds of Co2 yet it is only .04% of the atmosphere.
Do you have ANY understanding of just how precious little the GHG’s (in total) make up in our atmosphere? Seems not. Yet somehow, despite the extremely low concentrations, they do a great job of keeping this planet warm. I wonder how it works…..?
Methane occupies about 0.0018% and yet it warms the planet.
Not magic, science.

It's like using a chain link fence as a blanket.

More Co2, plants are healthier. Healthy plants produce O2 and higher yields of food.

Do you not realize during the Jurassic era the Planet did just fine.
