https://www.washingtonpost.com/clim...tricity-bills-depend-how-much-money-you-make/

“But California is about to challenge that basic logic, in an attempt to curb rising rates and help electrify the state's approximately 14 million homes. A new state law will require its three investor-owned utilities to charge customers fees for electricity based not only on how much electricity they use, but also on how much money they make.”

”The debate beginning in California touches on the question that all states will have to face sooner or later: Who should pay for the damage climate change is doing to the electricity grid?”😂

“All that work means California's electricity prices have gone sky-high. California's average retail electricity price is around 20 cents per kilowatt-hour, almost double the national average. And some customers see prices much higher than that: Pacific Gas & Electric offers rates that start at $0.31 per kilowatt-hour and climb to as high as $0.50 per kilowatt-hour depending on the time of day.”
They won’t be happy until every middle class constituent is out of there. Then you’ll have 2 classes the poor and rich. What could ever go wrong?🤷🏼‍♂️🤣

Comparatively to what needs to happen to amend any constitutional amendment yes it is. Plus I need to remind you we are not a democracy. 51% of people don’t automatically get to change the constitution as they want. There’s a process in place and that process is extensive and complicated.
Just to remind you you are a representative democracy according to your own government. You can bitch and wail all you like but it is very clear. 51% has nothing to do with it as the threshold for a vote is determined before it happens and may not be a simple majority. You can still have a democratic system when a vote threshold is different to 50%

By denying that your country is a representative democracy you do give away a lot about yourself...

We can fight all day about this but the US is a constitutional republic. Nothing can happen if it doesn’t meet the constitutional threshold. We can do this all day long buddy. Stick to what you know best warm beer and tasteless food. 😂

Yes, it is very clear. Enjoy your Monarchy.

Robert Draper of The New York Times published a piece on Republicans who say this in August. He cited a GOP candidate for the Arizona state legislature, Selina Bliss, saying: "We are not a democracy. Nowhere in the Constitution does it use the word 'democracy.' I think of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. That's not us."

But a democratic republic is us. Exactly.

Throughout our history we have functioned as both. Put another way, we have utilized characteristics of both. The people decide, but they do so through elected representatives working in pre-established, rule-bound and intentionally balky institutions such as Congress and the courts.

The government seated in Washington, D.C., represents a democratic republic, which governs a federated union of states, each of which in turn has its own democratic-republican government for its jurisdiction.

Indeed pointless - You can say what you like but YOUR GOVERNMENT is really clear what you are - or are you saying THEY are wrong too?

Nothing to do with what I know, I am merely referencing YOUR government!

The US government is full of useless twats. Their combined knowledge can fit on the tip of a needle. See the difference between you and I. You think the government knows it all and I know the government doesn’t know a damn thing. Why do you think that everything they try and do has to pass a constitutional muster? Oh because we are a constitutional republic. 😂 This is too easy. Try again I’ll be here all week.

Nah I'm not wasting my time on a know all. You know you are wrong but just can't bring yourself to admit it. I know why - all a bit sad really.

Greg - to make things even more complicated, you will only hear we are a constitutional republic from a certain group (you can guess who). Of course “they are right” and everyone else don’t know a damn thing.

It is like talking about the murderous Jan 6th crew. All of a sudden it becomes about some rioters in another state. You know, let’s talk about something else. Frankly I wouldn’t want to discuss it either.

This is way off topic but they keep bringing this stuff up and then get upset when someone comments.

And then the threads get closed as a result of those same people

I had already sussed their preferences, and hence inability to understand simple stuff

There is only one person who mentions J, 6th in this whole thread. Then he excuses the same actions from people in other States.

I'm going to go out on a limb due to his location and say he probably is one of the bureaucrats that need to be fired.
