While doing some polishing before planned PPF this week, I noticed a few chips in the gloss black front bumper insert. Is this just the same paint code as ebony black etc? Going to need a touch-up pen.

I just took a look and there is something else in the black paint, it's not metallic but could be pearl. That would make sense, they paint the bumper, hood vent and mirror cars absolute black so they blend in the absolute black body color.

Patrick, take a good led flashlight and look at the black paint closely.

On the GT350R, the wing, roof, and rear view mirrors have the hint of metallic in there. Does your front bumper?

Yeah to my eye it looks like the front bumper, hood vent, and back bumper panel are plain black, and the mirrors and painted black roof have a bit more something in them. Can't tell with the spoiler.

Close enough to all look cohesive together though.

Sorry to hear about the chips, that's why I only have 220ish miles on the car enough though I've had it for a month. Was nervous to drive it before PPF. One or two more days and that should be gone, just waiting for the drying process to be 200% finished before I drive it somewhere or wash it after the whole front clip PPF installation.

Found an old picture I had taken from my 2016 GT 350 mirror cap. It was absolute black. The insert appears to match the spoiler, and mirror caps which all seem to be the same as 2016. So G1 is the best guess.

Interesting, I'll have a closer look with a flashlight at the mirrors vs. the roof once I'm able to wash it again.

Drive the car. You are fine.

Edit:

Dont wash it until fully cured. Let it sit in the sun. I use Trakk tape to hold down edges that don't like to stay down. Any kind of tape is ok. Once it is dry, and an edge isn't down, thats it, its toast.
