Not sure about slower then he 2013 but it soaks up the raw feeling and harshness much better so maybe it just feels slower.
Dealer saying no to x plan means find another dealer. I went to 2 dealers before I got the deal I wanted
They are slower than the previous generation of Mustang. Not by a lot, so a good driver in a 2015 might be able to beat someone in an earlier car. I think it's only about 0.2 seconds slower 0-60 and just about even on a figure eight.

They are a lot more comfortable and there's a lot more standard equipment, though. I would love to see a more bare bones vehicle where all the money is in the drivetrain, but I understand Ford is in it to make money.

They are betting that slowing the car down and investing in more comfort and other options is the right way to go to get the most sales. They are probably right.

Thanks for the responses, looks like the MCA thing will be the ticket for my situation.

Now to move my Bullitt and a couple of other things to raise some cash between now and spring....

it will show you how much the invoice price is. most dealers who participate in truecar will give you $500 off invoice, plus whatever incentives there are at the time.

i know there's currently a $500 incentive right now, so you can potentially get the car for 1k below invoice.

on top of that, if you can find out who that dealer is, before you go through truecar, you can have them deduct their truecar fee, which is most likely $500, which gives you 1500 below invoice.

I use true car as a tool what I should be paying, but X-plan will be the price of truecar.

Built the same car on both Ford site using x plan which came out to be 31,480 and using true car the price came out to be 31,478. Neither of those prices include rebates, tax, tags, destination etc.

I had x plan. In my case, it was a very small discount. I abandoned it right away and used true car as a way to determine what would be a decent deal. I shopped around until I could pay below true car and ended up getting the car for the 'unusually low price'.

I'm up in the north east and the 8 days on the lot average doesn't apply here. They aren't moving so fast, at least in NJ.

Weird. According to TRUECar I paid "Above Market," whatever that means.

did you pay around the price of MSRP? you can usually get a price about 2500 or below MSRP from my experience.

I paid MSRP; I don't want to bother with the hassle of haggling over prices of things. So my MSRP was like $43,235 and that's what I'm paying. Avoiding the headache of price-hunting and negotiating is worth the two or three thousand I could have knocked off.

You must be doing really well for yourself then. Say you spend 8 hours negotiating (probably high) and you save $2500. Thats $312/hr. I'll take that kind of work any day.

It has nothing to do with $/hour.

If somebody told me that they'd pay me $1,000 to eat five live tarantulas -- let's say for the sake of argument that that would take me five minutes -- that's $12,000 / hour, but I'm still not doing it. Some things are distasteful enough that the money you make doing them isn't worth it. I don't enjoy haggling and would prefer to avoid it.

I would have used USAA's car buying service, but when I was initially ordering the car (in May) it wasn't configured for the 2015 Mustang yet. I asked my dealer if they took X-Plan and then said no. I'm not about to go galavanting all over the Tri-State area looking for a dealer who can save me a car payment or two.
