You know, the more I think of it, the more I’d say the Bilsteins are on par with the ProActions as far as stiffness/softness. The refinement of the Bilstein compression’s “squish” is what is so noticeable. I really like it; it’s as if these shocks made the chassis better.

It’s hard to explain, and frankly ride quality is pretty subjective, but I’m sold so far.

Glad to hear you're noticing a positive difference from the Bilsteins, Roadway. This just further increases my desire to put these on when my FP track dampers start to wear. I still believe the FP track and the Bilsteins would give a similar experience, but with the Bilsteins having the slight edge.

I’m pretty interested to hear what you’ll think coming from the FRPP Tracks. The FRPPs are certainly less expensive and come with all new mounting hardware as you know...I ‘m curious as to which will be the overall better value.

Me too. At the moment, there are no real deficiencies in the dampers that I can point to definitively. So the idea being use the Bilsteins to replace them and possibly gain another incremental change. Once I have the car paid off in the next year, year and a half I'm going to do some things to "freshen" it up. Dampers, possibly new exhaust for a change of pace. Ideally I'd like to wait until I have 80k miles on the clock or so, but I might pull the trigger before that. Hopefully you're still around these parts and still rockin the Mustang and BMW doesn't come steal you away by then.

I have to say, I'm seeing more and more German sports car enthusiasts switch to the Mustang and love it even more. Despite some of its quirks, this Mustang has soul. Some might say the quirks are part of the soul. Anyway, to me this car has such a great mixture of refined and raw characteristics. I am one with the car, car is one with me kinda thing.

Regardless, glad you're liking the rear shocks and I hope to you get the full set so I can hear more about it.

I'm happy I came in here and read this post. I was starting to get caught in the Bilstein hype and thinking about buying the rears with the low price now, but I really don't have any issues with my Steeda setup at all! I've not quite hit 36k yet and that means around 25k on this setup iirc, should last me a good while longer before really needing to change anything.

I wouldn’t worry about Bilsteins either with your Steeda sport springs. The ProActions that you have are seriously great. The Bilsteins simply do a better damping job on my higher rate Ultalites—in my opinion; they keep the suspension movement to a refined minimum.

Stock springs and Koni street orange shocks struts. That's what I'll do when and if that happens.
