Yes, I do

Okay let's bet....I'm absolutely for sure I will not only get a GT350 when they FIRST get here in Dallas, but I will get it at MSRP, I already have it in writing from the dealership, and have put down a deposit on the ONLY (1) guaranteed allotment my dealership is getting. (When I say "MY" , I mean the dealership I'm dealing, with not own):headbang:

Yes, I do
I've been lurking for a while, but I would take that bet too. I originally spoke with the dealer I bought my 2013 Boss from long before the GT350 came out this January. Then after the car was revealed, I contacted them again and I was already 3rd on their list! I talked to another dealer near my home, and they didn't have a clue. I contacted a 3rd long-standing Ford dealer in my area and they were willing to listen. I told them I was looking to get someone's first GT350 allocation at MSRP....before last week's news of Ford letting dealers know about the allocation process. I confirmed today that they "took the necessary steps to get their allocation that would be available to me at MSRP".

Even at MSRP... The Dealership makes a killing. But you get it at what FoMoCo considers a fair price.

These cars will eventually be at MSRP.
These cars will NOT be unlimited.
GT500s were limited--high limits but limited
Normal GTs are actually limited-although the limit is substantial
Ford has to deal with overall manufacturer CAFE requirements and thus limits cars at the low end of the mpg range. They need to sell X number of 4 and 6 bangers for every GT sold.

There may be some dealer who gets 35 cars...but that will be rare. Your average dealer is going to get a very specific limited allocation spread out over the yr (x number per quarter).

I think the price will self limit sales as this car gets closer in price to $60k+ (fully built out-not a stripper) and MSRP a true potential at the end of yr one or into yr 2.

I've ordered 2 Mercedes with direct factory delivery while I happened to be in Germany - let me tell you it was a nice experience.

Mercedes even advertises it on their front page and they offer you 7% off of MSRP to go that route. And yes, you can even order their AMG models that way (although they currently don't list the just out SLS AMG on that page).

If Ford wants to compete for my money they do need to match up - I would like to have a Mustang in my garage - but there's so many options. I'm waiting to see what they'll offer, but I'm also waiting for word on the new GT500, too.

Update on my deposit at a Dealership here in Dallas TX area. AS most of you read, on 1.29.15 I contacted a dealership who accepted my MSRP deal, so on 1.30.15 I put 1,000 cash deposit on the car. Well I ask for the MSRP in writing and the sales manager said "we do not gouged our customers on pricing etc..." So I took this as a verbal guarantee. I also had one of my employees with me when I put the deposit down. Ok fast forward to this last Friday. On Wednesday last week, I told my neighbor the deal I received and the dealership, and he said he buys all of his ford trucks from his brother's ford dealership about 60 miles away, and that his friend was looking for a GT350 also. Well on Friday, my friend said he contact the dealership and they said they are charging a 15K ADM on the car.....So I send a email on Friday noon to my Manager/salesman (dealership) and said I hope you are not following the same as the brother's dealership, etc..... and he has not email me back, and I know he worked Saturday, and I know he opened my email (long story on how I know)..so I drove to a very rural 100 miles+ away, dealership and spoke with them and they said they were not going to fill the application out, and I said if I pay the 1000 app. fee can I get the car at MSRP, and they said yes...So if I do not hear back from my other / first dealer I will put it down with another, and GET IT IN WRITING this time, no excuses...it seem you can not trust anyone now day..no ones word is worth crap !! ...(I had an email from my first that said if we can not agree on price I get my money back, but he said that was in the email because we do not know what the MSRP is going to be....) Just looks like another way of not committing to a price....how hard can it be if your not trying to screw someone...I will sell at MSRP, that's so easy to write.

Verbal promises on car buying are legally worthless and forgotten and you do not have one.
Without knowing what the MSRP is they can still "price" the car with the statement of Ford/Manufacturer MSRP. Most dealers to avoid issues and surprises later would even be willing to state: Manufacturer MSRP, agreement void and buyer released if Manuf..MSRP exceeds $XX,XXX.

The very fact the dealership will not sign a contract now--a simple one that simply states you get 1st, 2nd, 3rd unit they are allocated for the 2016 Production year...at MSRP etc is simply stringing you along and waiting to see that the market does. The simply contract should make reference to the future formal contract that will include taxes, fees etc...AS WELL as specifying you have X days from their contracting you to specify color and options if not previously done.

Short and sweet--YOU DO NOT have a deal at MSRP that the dealer is bound to.

Your dealer now thinks your shopping around...why on earth would you even discuss with them another dealers selling price. What on gods green earth were you thinking? That just confuses issues. If they feel you are shopping around they will feel they are free to do the same....and the fact you said "I hope your not..." would indicate to them that price has NOT yet been set and you do not have a solid deal-you just admitted that fact to them in writing. AKA you just let them off the hook.

The fact they refused to put the matter into writing the first time should tell you everything--you just didn't want to hear it..

Dealerships change owners, GMs, sales personal all the time...verbal deals mean nothing. I tried like heck to get my local dealer who I've known for over 15 years (bought every unique edition..99 limited, 01 Bullitt up to a 12 Boss) to "contract" as to a 15 LE and his second GT350, as he would take the first for his collection, last Sept (clearly the GT350 was not confirmed at that time but everyone knew this was coming).

They simply would not do it and would not say why. Now I know--the dealership owner was looking to sell and retire...the dealership was up for sale. No way he could "contract" for future cars as the new owner would not want to be bound-would really screw up a million dollar dealership sales agreement and lawful transfer of inventory on "X" date. And he wasn't about to tell me he wanted to sell as staff did not know... So there are many reasons a dealership will not Contract for a car not out yet...but yeah, I suspect the real reason here is that they are waiting on the market to see how "hot' the car is and if you get screwed in the process, so what..

Now the tough love part--Your making your own mess. Keep other buyers and dealers the hell OUT of the conversation and just deal with 1 Dealer, 1 car and 1 buyer -you.

The small out of the way dealer--WILL they get GT350 allocation even with the program application? Do they sell ANY Mustangs? If they are a remote dealership that pretty much sells work trucks an other commercial vehicles even with the application that may still get "0" and their application returned.

If they are positive they will qualify then pay the $1000 and get it all in writing. Just be aware that such a small dealership will be way down the allocation list. They will get one...but it could be one of the last units in the production year.

And don't say that you're paying MSRP when you pay a $1,000 ADM.

R 350, sounds like the dealer has taken your $1,000 in hopes of taking you "off the market".

I hope you get the deal you are looking for, but the details tell me they may be playing games with you.

Best of luck!

On one hand, I wish that dealers wouldn't add ADM. On the other hand I don't know that I can blame them for trying. Now, the guy who actually pays the ADM, him I can most definitely blame.
Concise and spot on. You win this thread.

If you guys would stop freaking out, running around like a pack of retards, then there wouldn't be any problems. The GT350 is not a limited production vehicle. There will be plenty of them sitting on lots for months. You are causing a self-fulfilling prophecy by needlessly crying to any dealership that will still take your calls. Please stop it, you are making things worse for rational people.

And definitely playing into the hands of the unscrupulous minds of the opportunistic and greedy who can read the excitement of the irrational people.
