Gen 2 mustang with gen5 whipple. Have a ruptured hose that runs from the degas bottle to the fitting on the motor right in front of the fuel rail. Bare minimum have to drain the coolant from the car. I may be able to change it out by removing the 2 coolant line that go into the intercooler bricks on the driver's side. If all else fails I have to remove the whole damn whipple.
So my questions is, what's the easiest way to drain the whipples coolant system without removing the bumper to get to the coolant tank? Tia

When I’ve had to take the lid off my gen 5 Whipple (I’ve had to do this a few times) I never drained the system. I disconnected the hoses from the lid and plugged them with some plugs I 3D printed. I tried to leave as much coolant in the heat exchanger system as possible. I also just capped off the coolant line fittings on the lid with some caps I found at the local auto parts store.

The coolant tank for the intercooler system can be accessed by removing the driver side wheel well liner. Might need to remove that large plastic tray under the front of the car as well. No need to remove the front bumper.

I’m also curious the easiest way to drain the system as I’ve never done it.

This right here. Pull the belly pan, and drivers side fender liner, IF you feel the need to drain it. I would try to do what MeJohn said, though.

Luckily i was able to replace the hose with just disconnecting a few vacumm hoses. Wasnt much room but with some really long needle nose pliers and flathead screw driver i got it done. and luckily i had a new hose laying around
