Gearstick rattle noise fixed

Hi all

I have some NVH in the gearstick when held fully to the left against the gait, and also a bit of noise after driving at high speeds for a while, when everything is warm. I have seen a couple of youtube videos where heatshrink wrap was put between the gearstick and spring under the gearstick cover (webbing?) Which the youtuber claimed fixed the issue. Does anyone have any experience with this, either the noise or that has tried the fix.

The videos are all named shifter rattle fix or similar

I followed the video by Auto Fanatic on Youtube to stop the buzz and sound resonace in my shifter.

Some guidance:

1. Remove the knee pads on each side of the radio by pulling straight out. Then remove the 2 x 7mm screws on each side.
2. Next, move to the center console and open it. Pop up the plastic on either top side -- the thin lines of plastic on the top edges -- using a trim tool. This should allow you to free the rest of the console by popping it up. Don't lift it too far just yet!
3. Unplug the wire to the the key programming slot, under the drink holder.
4. Reach up under the bezel around the shifter and pinch each of the trim clasps until the shifter bezel pops out easily. Do not attempt to remove it from above or you will break it.
