Hello folks,

Mentioned this before but it still bugs me a bit...

I don't know if this is a problem specific to the Ecoboost. What I experience is a "plasticy" rattle when accelerating. I.e. when the engine starts to get a bit lively/noisy. It's louder the louder the engine gets.

It seems to be coming from the centre console area. Almost as if its underneath the handbrake or further forward underneath the radio somewhere. For a while I thought it was just the change I keep in the ash tray thing but definitely not that.

It's not always there, and although it's fairly subtle, its definitely noticeable. Feels like something is loose or there is something that naturally makes a rattle in the interior.

Anyway, on the off chance that someone has experienced something similar I wanted to mention.

Cheers

Kristian, pull the seat (Passanger) all the way forward, i thought the exact same, it was actually my seatbelt clip hitting the plastic, it did my head in as well! I took literally everything out my car to find it!

If that doesn't work... :(.

Haha glad it's not just me! Will give that a go. Sounds plausible...assuming you mean the bit touching the plastic around the handbrake? Surely it's "wedged" against the plastic? Seat is moved about quite a bit actually now that I think of it. Maybe that's why I don't hear it sometimes.

No i mean the bit of plastic touching the right side of the seats (or left passanger side). I thought it was in the centre as it sounded like it was, but it was actually the seat belt where it sits when unused by the door, clashing off the side of the door because it was trapped between that and the seat
